EMERGING MYSTIC WISDOM

Apprising Ministries has told you that largely pretending to be Protestant evangelicalism is now beginning to pay a heavy price for its foolish embrace of the sinfully ecumenial neo-liberal cult of the Emerging Church, or the Emergent Church, as it’s sometimes called.

Now, a key component within their new postmodern Liberalism 2.o—its “big tent” Progressive Christianity aka Emergence Christianity—is corrupt Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism (CSM) ala Living Spiritual Teacher and Quaker mystic Richard Foster and his spiritual twin Dallas Willard.

The EC has served Satan as a Trojan Horse through which was unloaded, under the guise of the so-called Spiritual Formation, this romanticized version of Roman Catholic Counter Reformation [hello!] spirituality within the mainstream of squishy evanjellyfish that has now become such a fad.

One of the hallmarks of mysticism, which it has in common with postmodernism, is an embracing of paradox and irrational philosophy. For example the following from Living Spiritual Teacher and Roman Catholic mystic Richard Rohr:

“the soul prefers to embrace things, not to name things. It is what it is without a name. It is what it is as it is.”

With this not in mind, for the *ahem* edification of the church visible, I now begin a series sharing *cough* some Eastern-style *retch* wisdom that mystics so love to—um, meditate upon in their “silence” sessions. Deep fountains of pure profundity of such depth that we descend beyond the reality of realness.

O I dunno, something like that; so with this out of mind then, here’s today’s first installment of :

Only when aardvarks benchpress longingly over Tanzania can nothingness become what it could have been, if only.
