EMERGING CHURCH APOSTATES TONY JONES AND BRIAN MCLAREN ON “THE INNOCENCE OF MUSLIMS”

Just the other day Apprising Ministries showed you Emerging Church Guru Brian McLaren On Why He Rejects Biblical Teaching On Homosexuality. The information comes from an interview which ran September 15th on NPR. It’s promoting McLaren’s new book Why Did Jesus, Moses, the Buddha and Mohammed Cross the Road?: Christian Identity in a Multi-Faith World.

So, if you think the evil influence of Living Spiritual Teacher and EC guru Brian McLaren, or that of Fuller Theological Seminary professor Dr. Tony Jones—two-thirds of the EC unholy trinity along with universalist EC pastor Doug Pagitt, and his friend Brian McLaren—has died, I strongly suggest that you give it much further thought.

The fact is, evangelicalism has already deteriorated so far that such as these are among its representatives; particularly in secular venues. For example, there’s McLaren’s post a couple of days ago as “Special to CNN” called My Take: It’s time for Islamophobic evangelicals to choose. His warped and toxic views are being given quite a forum right now.

Here’s the problem, Brian McLaren et al play well before the world for as it is written — They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. (1 John 4:5). This is a main reason why the neo-liberal cult operating within the Emerging Church aka the Emergent Church still needs to be exposed and confronted.

We can’t afford to let their voices be heard in the public arena without rebuttal and without our setting the record straight concerning the actual teaching of the historic orthodox Christian faith. Now today Tony Jones tweeted:

The link takes us to Jones’ blog where we find the Google Hangout video below. In it Tony Jones interviews Brian McLaren concerning another video entitled The Innocence Of Muslims, which if you didn’t know is a “viral video gone wrong.” Andrew Marantz of The New Yorker informs us:

“The Innocence of Muslims” may not have actually inspired the killings of four Americans in Benghazi, but news of the video has sparked protests in many Muslim countries. The video is crude, both aesthetically and ideologically.

It was, presumably, intended to offend, and it is having that effect. But, like the Beijing Evening News editor who reprinted an Onion story verbatim, the people taking umbrage at “The Innocence of Muslims” are giving it more respect than it deserves. (source)

Leaving that aside as I close this out, for now, it’s not so much that we would disagree with the humanitarian statements by heretical teachers like Tony Jones and Brian McLaren; our issue is with their false new postmodern form of Progressive Christian quasi-universal poison under their spiritual circus “big tent” of Emergence Christianity. A false gospel is no Gospel.

Everyone is not going to be saved; in fact, Jesus Himself said a vast majority of mankind will end up in hell because they will not repent; and therefore, they remain on the broad path (cf. Matthew 7:13-14). The very same broad path I might add of the type of universalism Tony Jones and Brian McLaren espouse, and which Rob Bell shares as his own Love Wins mythology.

That’s why, plainly and publicly, we must tell the world in no uncertain terms that such as these are found in the very next verse after those to which I alluded just a moment ago. Jesus warns us:

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” (Matthew 7:15)
