EMERGENT APOSTATES LIKE TONY JONES ARE NOT INTERESTED IN HONEST CONVERSATION

I’ve pointed out many times now that as a general rule, and a courtesy, we do not publish email without the permission of the sender.

At the same time, all email sent to AM and Christian Research Network is considered the property of Apprising Ministries so we may indeed publish unsolicited email for the purposes of edification.

Such is the case here. Out of respect, I have changed the name to protect privacy:

Hello, My name is “Jack.”  stumbled upon this article:
TONY JONES ARGUES FOR OPEN MARRIAGE AND POLYAMORY

Now I know nothing about Tony Jones, and very little about “emergent” Christianity.

But I will say that my wife and I were sent to the Wild Goose festival by the Mennonite seminary I attend..and if that is any indication of the direction of the movement, we were not impressed or in approval.

That being said. I went and read the original blog post by Tony Jones… and could not believe the extent to which you took him out of context.

There was no approval or endorsement of “open marriage” OR polyamory…(at least in this particular blog) rather him advocating for candid and honest conversation about some very difficult issues.

I am a conservative evangelical.. but I would agree with him that these simply not easy issues to talk about. Please report with honesty and integrity.

Hello “Jack,”

Thank you for contacting Apprising Ministries. Please know there was no offense taken and I received this as written from a point of sincere concern. So, I’m now responding in the tone of two people talking about issues over coffee. I just put all of this up front due to the coldness of the written language, which lacks the ability to distinguish inflections, etc.

Below you said: “Now I know nothing about Tony Jones, and very little about ’emergent’ Christianity.” Well, I personally know much about both having been tracking these apostates for over six years now.

You tell me; “I will say that my wife and I were sent to the Wild Goose festival by the Mennonite seminary I attend.. and if that is any indication of the direction of the movement, we were not impressed or in approval.”

It’s sad that your seminary [Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary] would want to expose you to one of the absolute worst of the Emergent Church apostasia-paloozas; truly, it is among the clearest expressions of the circus “big tent” progressive universalism which the neo-liberal cult operating within the Emerging Church refers to as Emergence Christianity. ((BIG TENT CIRCUS OF POSTMODERN LIBERALISM))

I am glad to hear that you and your wife do not approve of their mystic mythology. Here’s some more information about that Wild Goose heresy-fest:

THE EMERGING CHURCH WILD GOOSE CHASE 2012

Referring to my article TONY JONES ARGUES FOR OPEN MARRIAGE AND POLYAMORY you told me: “I went and read the original blog post by Tony Jones… and could not believe the extent to which you took him out of context.”

I’m afraid we’ll have to agree to disagree here because I’m not sure you correctly followed my argumentation within my piece. Jones was quoting homosexual writer Dan Savage and agreeing with many of his anti-biblical points.

In your own words you say that you aren’t familiar with Tony Jones, whom I’ve spoken with a number of times, or with the Emerging menace over-all. Therefore, you wouldn’t know what Dr. Jones means when he opines:

many Christians are ready for our conversations about sexuality to expand beyond “what to do with the gays,” and instead have a more fully-orbed dialogue about sexuality and human identity.

The “Christians” he includes himself in by “our” aren’t the least bit interested in talking with someone like me who will teach them what the Bible says “about sexuality.” They are not, as you say, “advocating for candid and honest conversation about some very difficult issues.”

No, from years of personal dialogue with such as these I can tell you they are progressive/liberals who want to follow the desires of their own hearts and who have an agenda to convert you to their evil positions. Don’t be taken in by this: “I would agree with him that these simply not easy issues to talk about.”

That’s not what Tony Jones is really talking about. He knows very well that the historic orthodox Christian Church has always taught the Biblical standards for “sexuality and human identity.” The apostates he’s surrounded himself with simply do not want to do what God has said in His Word. Their goal is to fool naive evangelicals into joining them in their apostasy.

Tony Jones and Emergence Christianity are out to destroy the historic doctrines of the Christian Church and to lure people into their postmodern forms of liberalism and universalism. The fact is, Dr. Jones and his equally apostate “pastor” Doug Pagitt are in sin affirming practicing homosexuals at Solomon’s Porch:

DOUG PAGITT AND HOMOSEXUAL SIN

DOUG PAGITT, THE EMERGING CHURCH, AND AFFIRMING HOMOSEXUALITY

“Jack,” wolves in sheep’s clothing like Tony Jones and his friend Jay Bakker are actually the tip-of-the-spear for the Emerging Church advance into mainstream evangelicalism pushing for acceptance that having sexual relations with another of the same sex, i.e  homosexuality, within a monogamous relationship is also a viable life for the regenerated Christian.

Such as these are not to be treated as Christians; rather, they are to be marked out:

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
(Romans 16:17-18)

Finally you admonish me to: “Please report with honesty and integrity.” That’s what I am doing; however, as a pastor-teacher it’s also part of my job to sometimes go beyond mere reporting and to also walk people through the issues (cf. 2 Timothy 4:2; Titus 1:9-11).

I pray this helps and may God open your eyes that you may recognize the time in which you live.

Sincerely,

Ken Silva, pastor-teacher
