4 QUESTIONS FOR APPRISING MINISTRIES

Email

I’ve pointed out many times now that as a general rule, and a courtesy, we do not publish email without the permission of the sender.

At the same time, all email sent to AM and Christian Research Network is considered the property of Apprising Ministries so we may indeed publish unsolicited email for the purposes of edification.

Such is the case here:

Subject: 4 questions

Message Body:

1) Rather than, or in addition to, criticizing the many pastors and ministries as you do on this website, do you ever personally contact these people to discuss your viewpoints?

2) if you don’t, is that cowardly and/or unbiblical?

3) How does what you are doing on this website foster unity within the body of Christ?

4) Is it possible that you might be wrong in some of your criticism, i.e., that you may be interpreting the scripture incorrectly, rather than those whom you so confidently criticize?

Hello Big Al,

Thank you for contacting Apprising Ministries. Although I’m really not a fan of postmodern deconstructing questions, I’ll still answer you.

“1) Rather than, or in addition to, criticizing the many pastors and ministries as you do on this website, do you ever personally contact these people to discuss your viewpoints?”

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do.

“2) if you don’t, is that cowardly and/or unbiblical?”

Since I do personally contact people, this is actually irrelevant. However, it isn’t cowardly or unbiblical to publicly call out teachers who are in the public arena. Their teachings are in public so the criticism must also be in public.

“3) How does what you are doing on this website foster unity within the body of Christ?”

Since I’m doing what the Lord has called me to do on this website I can rest assured that it is accomplishing what He wishes it to accomplish. You need to be careful that you don’t confuse professing Christians in the visible church with those who are in the invisible Body of Christ.

“4) Is it possible that you might be wrong in some of your criticism, i.e., that you may be interpreting the scripture incorrectly, rather than those whom you so confidently criticize?”

Of course it’s possible. It’s also more possible, since I’m adhering to what the Bible teaches, that I’m correct in my criticism of those whom I criticize.

I pray this alleviates your concerns and may God open your eyes that you may recognize the time in which you live.

Sincerely,
