A QUESTION FOR ROB BELL

And Jesus said to them, “Watch out and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” (Matthew 16:6, NASB)
God’s Perspective On Mankind
Here’s a little something for Rob Bell to think seriously about. In Velvet Elvis Bell writes, “God has an incredibly high view of people” (134). However the Bible says, “The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers. You destroy those who speak lies; the LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man… The LORD tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence. (Psalm 5:5-6, 11:5, ESV)
You stand before God’s people Rob and teach them that Jesus “is giving his (sic) followers the authority to make new interpretations of the Bible” (050). You also teach His people in Christ’s Name that it is wrong to “just take [the Bible] for what it says” because that idea is “warped and toxic” (053) And then you flat out deny sola Scriptura, “Scripture alone” (067), in spite of Jesus Christ’s clear admonition to the contrary – “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every Word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ” (Matthew 4:4)
Rob you need to know that your presumptive boasts about some alleged authority for “followers” of Jesus to make subjective existential interpretations of Scripture; your deceitful idea that we shouldn’t just take the Bible literally where applicable, and your false teaching that Holy Scripture alone is not to be the absolute standard for doctrine are simply not true. And because they are not true, then in the eyes of the Lord they are lies.
So Rob, now what do you think about how God says He feels in regard to people who are teaching boastful lies such as these? Today I sincerely and strongly urge you in the Lord to please repent of this hatred toward the Word of the Lord that you as a minister of the Gospel should hold in the highest esteem. Because Rob, if Christ truly has sent you, then your job as a pastor-teacher is to answer your follower’s questions and not to cause them to have more doubts.
As it is written:
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. (1 Peter 3:15, KJV)
