*UPDATE* TADD GRANDSTAFF: A BLOGGING COWARD COMES CALLING
By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on Dec 4, 2007 in Current Issues
You may recall the recent post Tadd Grandstaff: “I Hate Christians” here at Apprising Ministries, which introduced us to this new breed new evangelical church planter and pastor. As noted over at Tall Skinny Kiwi the blog of my ol’ Emergent Church bud Andrew Jones in Tom Brokaw on emerging church Grandstaff has recently come into some prominence.
However, as I pointed out at TSK, I’d see Grandstaff more in the new evangelical church planting group with the other uber hip new breed pastors like Perry Noble, Gary Lamb and Steven Furtick rather than with the emerging church. Well, yesterday Tadd found the opportunity to blog some of his thoughts about his TV appearance and other stuff in “finally a little downtime.”
Tadd, it seems, is “gonna be a DADDY!!!” Congats. And then among nuggets of man-centered semi-pelagian church planting wisdom he also shared that:
Other than a few blogs out there that tried to take some cheap shots at us…the support has been great. We take that the negative with a grain of salt and we keep on moving on. We don’t have time for the the [sic] obese feeders that sit back and get fatter and fatter and never actually exercise any of their so called knowledge & wisdom…other than sitting behind a computer criticizing and running down every church planter and every pastor that they disagree with. We don’t have a lot of time for blogging cowards & hopefully they have realized that they are just wasting their time!! (Online source)
Ya know, I’m pretty up on recent happenings re. Grandstaff and all I’ve seen are “a few” others who were actually writing quite positive things about him. Be that as it may, I’d say there’s a relatively good chance that AM and Christian Research Net, which both happen to be under my personal supervision, are included in these alleged “cheap shots.” Um, not so unlike, perhaps, the one he has just taken at me above.
Yeah, we “take that negative with a grain of salt and keep moving on,” which I guess explains why Tadd had to…well, stop…and then address these “obese feeders that sit back and get fatter and fatter.” By the way, someone needs to let Grandstaff know; Steven Furtick called and he would like his sermons notes back (see video below).
And isn’t it nice that these new breed ultra trendy pastors never resort to name-calling like those mean ol’ watchdog ministries—oops, make that “blogging cowards”:

I wonder how Grandstaff would know that I “never actually exercise any of [my] so called knowledge & wisdom…other than sitting behind a computer criticizing and running down every church planter and every pastor that [I] disagree with.” The truth is; he doesn’t. Indeed I am not aligned with the “in-crowd” (check the names on their blogrolls) of new evangelical church planters, but should anyone want a clearer picture of my labors in Christ they can go here.
And Tadd; as far as “blogging cowards” go, you might have a hard time hanging the tag coward on someone who is not the least bit reticent to actually use the name of those he is confronting. See you on the playing field dude.
UPDATE: This afternoon I left the following comment for finally a little down time:

You’ll see that the above link simply circles around to this post, which means Tadd didn’t want to have to be bothered with this “blogging coward.”
Guess we won’t need hear anymore whining from this new evangelical crowd about Online Discernment Ministries supposedly not being “accountable” when some of us have no comments sections.
Cuz it sure could be construed from the above that man-centered men like Tadd Grandstaff only want commentary from those who lavish praise upon him. Think about it.
And now here’s pastor Steven Furtick as he rails against Bible-believing Christians. O, for the uninitiated, in church planter-ese that’s “obese feeders” who “want to pull [their] fat butt up to the table” of God’s Word:
