APOSTATE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH: TRIPS TO LOURDES TO CUT TIME SPENT IN PURGATORY
By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on Dec 6, 2007 in Roman Catholicism
For those who think that apostate Roman Catholicism has actually changed in things related to salvation Apprising Ministries has a tip for you: It would seem there’s a large bridge in England one can get a REALLY, REALLY good deal on.
*wink* But for those who of you who live in the real world we have this from Enland’s Telegraph: “Pope Benedict XVI is offering relief from purgatory to Roman Catholics who travel to Lourdes over the next year, the Vatican said yesterday.” (Online source) *psst* Now the Vatican itself would be a pretty good source for what truly goes on in the RCC.
*In a broadcaster’s voice* “But you’d better hurry if you want to take advantage of this great deal on shortening your P-time suffering for your own sin because these ‘plenary indulgences’ are only available until December 8, 2008—so you better make your travel plans now!”:
Pilgrims to the shrine in south-west France will receive “plenary indulgences” from the Pontiff, which the Church says reduce the time spent being “washed” [how sweet] of sin after death. The indulgences will be available from this weekend until Dec 8, 2008.
The Church teaches that people who do not go directly to heaven must spend time in purgatory, where they can be purified of residual sin. (ibid.)
But wait; behind door number 2 theeeeere’s even more on this special spiritual edition of apostate popes’ and “Let’s Make A Deal”:
For those who cannot make the journey to France, the Pope will also grant indulgences to Catholics who pray at places of worship dedicated to the Madonna of Lourdes from Feb 2 to Feb 11. Indulgences may also be granted under special circumstances to people too sick to visit the shrine, the Vatican said. (ibid.)
This story of indulgences is confirmed by Catholic News Service as well. And people say the Word Faith prosperity preachers like Joel Osteen are hucksters. They have nothing on the prostitutes running the Roman Catholic Church.
And by the way, does anyone recall a guy by the name of Martin Luther? Seems he had a few things to say about those harlots himself.
