JAY BAKKER ON GAY MARRIAGE
By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on Feb 28, 2009 in Current Issues, Features, Homosexuality/"Christian", Jay Bakker
Ya know, it’s not always easy in the lives of those preaching their doctrines of demons. Jay Bakker, pastor of the goat herd at Revolution Church, has already told us about a personal chat he had with the LORD God Almighty Who apparently has confided in “pastor” Jay that He’s now changed His mind about the practice of homosexuality:
“The more I follow grace, the more I’m drawn to him [God], the more I’m willing to stand up for people being persecuted,” said Bakker. “It sounds so churchy, but I felt like God spoke to my heart and said ‘[homosexuality] is not a sin.’ ” (Online source, emphasis mine)
Watch below as Jay Bakker gets a little bit of a surprise at Grace Church, “a gospel church,” while he’s sharing the party line of the Emergence rebellion against Sola Scriptura’s position that the practice of homosexuality is not a sin. The congregation, used to whooping it up in an “amen chorus” during sermons, suddenly grows very quiet; they even appear reluctant to sample the kool-aid.
But, even if this particular group actually has an ounce of discernment left, there’s always those like the gullible Ged who posted this video clip:
Jay Bakker from Revolution giving a speech on gay marriage. The reaction of the congregation is disturbing and obviously very upsetting for him. When I first watched this it forced me to have a look at some of my own prejudices and for that I thank you, God Bless you Jay.
No Ged, God will not be bless this mess; for Jesus has already warned us:
“Temptations to sin are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.” (Luke 17:1-2, ESV)
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses.
How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (Hebrews 10:26-31)
