Hammering Out The Golden Buddha Of The Mystic Mush God

It is a sad fact that a perverted, postevangelical, form of Protestant evangelicalism has taken over most of the leadership positions within the apostatizing American Christian Church. Add to this the further entrenchment of the postliberal Emergence rebellion against Sola Scriptura—even in mainstream evangelicalism—and there has now been a largely successful supplanting of the awesome and majestic one true and living LORD God Almighty.

In His place teeters the new golden Buddha of the quite mythical mush god of existential mysticism. So now the scene is set for these so-called “Christian” mystics to make their new ecumenical religion work. And with this Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism (CSM), anchored as it is in the spurious spirituality of the Counter Reformation of apostate Roman Catholicism, we are in very fact dealing with another religion entirely.

As readers of Apprising Ministries have seen in e.g. articles like Peter Rollins And Phyllis Tickle On The Emergence Of A Brand New Religion and Richard Rohr: Conversations, Convergence And Emergence Apostasy, in the interest of false unity rooted in the love of the man over God (see-2 Timothy 3:2), out goes the objective Truth of the Bible; out goes the Reformation, and we have now replaced the historic orthodox Christian faith which was once for all delivered to the saints with what Living Spiritual Teacher and mystic Matthew Fox calls a new reformation of “deep ecumenicism.”

So within this reemergence of Gnosticism through the neo-pagan practice of Contemplative/Centering Prayer(CCP), which is really an altered state of consciousness i.e. transcendental meditation for the Christian, we now have yet another fulfillment of Scripture in that this Ecumenical Church of Deceit (ECoD) of postevangelicalism has a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof (2 Timothy 3:5). But what does the rest of that verse then tell the genuine Christian to do?

Should we then be inviting these Christ-denying man-pleasers into our churches to teach this profane spiritual adultery rooted in Gnostic mysticism to our unsuspecting young? God forbid; grow a spiritual backbone won’t you — from such turn away. Did you hear that Southern Baptist Convention? Well, based e.g. on Something Not Right with Southern Baptist Convention Crossover ’08 and Something Definitely Not Right With New Orleans Seminary the answer is a definite and resounding: No.

But now that the Devil has established his “deep ecumenical” beachhead of CSM through his ECoD within our Lord’s Church they just needed to find themselves a leader who also happens to be a highly ecumenical contemplative. Ah, this brings us to the Guru of Spiritual Formation “Roshi” Richard Foster. Foster, who is a member of the Religious Society of Friends, aka the Quakers, is even touted by the Purpose Driven Pope Rick Warren as a leader within the evangelical church itself.

You can see this for yourself in in Rick Warren Guilty For Endorsing The Cult Of Guru Richard Foster And His Reimagined Gnostic Mysticism. Then into into this murky mystic mix we stir Foster’s spiritual twin SBC minister Dallas Willard who’s given this corrupt contemplative garbage a veneer of scholastic credibility. And you may recall one of my previous articles on Foster called Who Is Richard Foster? Within I show clearly that the Quakers are as anti-Protestant and highly ecumenical a bunch as can possibly be found, and further, I document that mysticism was always a key component of their worship.

That said, in my view, if the Quakers were ever actually in the faith it sure didn’t take them very long to drift away into apostasy. Which begs a very critical question: Why then is Richard Foster considered such a reliable source for proper Christian spirituality even by “Protestant” SBC seminaries like New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary? Men and women, Foster’s discernment is so far out there we can’t even get a radar fix on him and his myopic mystic “message” of corrupt Contemplative/Centering Prayer.

So do yourself a favor and keep far away from this form of TM lightly sprayed with Christian terminology. As I have mentioned many times before, this CSM and it main vehicle of CCP, is so “seeker friendly” that not only does it appeal to liberal mainline denominations, but it can also easily be incorporated into the “spiritual journey” of so-called “seekers” in any “faith tradition.” And how tragic it will be for all those who really can’t see those flapping flags of the deepest scarlet waving right now in front of them concerning:

all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2: 10-12, ESV)
