Ok, roll the tired ol’ soft drink commercial followed by the Rodney King mantra of man-love.
“…I’d like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony… Can’t we all just get along?”
John Thavis of Catholic News Service brings us this sad story:
This year’s meditation for Pope Benedict XVI’s Good Friday Way of the Cross has a distinctly Asian perspective, referring to Hindu scriptures, an Indian poet and Mahatma Gandhi… Indian Archbishop Thomas Menamparampil of Guwahati wrote the meditation on the 14 stations, to be read as the pope leads the candelit “Via Crucis” at Rome’s Colosseum…
He ended with a meditation on Jesus’ entombment, borrowing insights from the Eastern spiritual distinction between reality and illusion… He quoted a prayer from the Hindu holy writings, the Upanishads…
But the linchpin of this Eastern reflection is the passion of Jesus Christ. In that sense, it reflects Pope Benedict’s view of Christianity’s relationship with the non-Christian world — that the Gospel enlightens and fulfills the beliefs of other faiths… (Online source)
Perhaps the papal pretender ought to crack open THE Book concerning “the beliefs of other faiths” – they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers in demons (1 Corinthians 10:20, NASB).
Do yourself an eternal favor; don’t listen to fools like the Pope, who walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted “Holy Father” and have men kiss their…ring…for they are lovers of the self i.e. mankind (see-2 Timothy 3:2).
