THE OOZE.TV W/SPENCER BURKE: DJ HAPA REMIXING THE ROLE OF PASTOR
By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on Jun 13, 2009 in Current Issues, Emergence Christianity, Emergent Church
As I said in the semi-satirical post Nadia Bolz-Weber: Leading Minister Of The Next Emergence Of Christianity at this online discernment and apologetics ministry Apprising Ministries I’ve long been covering the Emerging Church, sometimes called Emergent Church, now morphing into Emergence Christianity.
Whatever you want to call it, at its rotten root this cult of a postliberalism, with its egregiously ecumenical and highly subjective Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism, is a blatant rebellion against Sola Scriptura. And mainstream evangelicalism has now largely embraced it to the eternal detriment of young people such as Kimberly Williams.
For those who don’t know, The Ooze website is “dedicated to the Emerging Church culture” and the “evolution” [read: de-evolution] of the Christian faith. In the particular Ooze TV episode linked below we’re asked “What do a scratch academy DJ and church pastor have in common?” And then we’re told:
More than you’d think, according to DJ Hapa and Kimberly Williams. Hapa is director of the internationally acclaimed Scratch Academy and Kimberly Williams is a student at Fuller Theological Seminary, whose paths crossed when Kimberly began exploring the metaphor of “pastor as DJ.” Hapa describes a DJ’s unique form of musician-ship as one of de-composition and re-composition… (Online source)
Sadly we’re also informed that, even in violation of God’s Word, “Kimberly thinks sitting at the feet of a DJ can help her become a better pastor.” You can view the program by clicking here.
