SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES AMIDST SPIRITUAL DECEPTION

DOWN WITH SOLA SCRIPTURA!
Apprising Ministries has long been pointing out that the kind of anti-Reformation foolishness described below by Larry DeBryun, pastor of Franklin Road Baptist Church, is right now metatitizing as a cancer throughout the apostatizing Southern Baptist Convention. Unfortunately pragmatism rules within the Slowly Becoming Catholic and it seems likely just a matter of time that its lu$t for number$ will finally completely consume it.
You can even see for yourself in Baptist State Convention Of North Carolina (SBC) Points Us To Renovare International Conference that entire SBC state conventions no longer feel they have to try and hide their spiritual prostitution e.g. with the Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism mused by Living Spiritual Teacher and Quaker mystic Richard Foster as spurious Spiritual Formation along with his spiritual twin, and SBC minister, Dallas Willard.
Foster’s highly subjective and egregiously ecumenical teachings comprised a core doctrine of the Emerging Church aka Emergent Church, now morphing into Emergence Christianity, advanced by such notables as “theologian in residence” at Solomon’s Porch (see video below) Tony Jones and EC icon Rob Bell. And we even have this mysticism-lite, gleaned from the corrupt Counter Reformation spirituality of apostates (at best) like Ignatius of Loyola, spreading within the supposed “Protestant” SBC.
For example this rejection of Sola Scriptura in favor of these ascetic so-called spiritual disciplines is also being recommended by Purpose Driven Pope Rick Warren, arguably the SBC’s most visible minister, as you can see in Southern Baptist Pastor Rick Warren And Saddleback Church Openly Recommend Contemplative Spirituality. And interestingly enough, as we touch on in Latest Fad Of Repackaged “Christian” Mysticism Aka “Spiritual Formation” Finds Root In Church Growth Movement, most of these men share an involvement with Fuller Theological Cesspool Seminary.
Sad, but true; and Larry DeBruyn is speaking the heart of Jesus when he tells you in this piece from the online discerment and apologetics ministry Slice of Laodicea:
We find ourselves living in times like Amos who indicated of his day that there was, “a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord” (Amos 8:11). And seeing the helpless churches dying in the drought, pseudo-prophets seize the opportunity to “speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord” (Jeremiah 23:16b).
In many former evangelical pulpits the Scriptures are no longer taught, and correspondingly, in those pews the Scriptures are no longer learnt. Survey after survey reveals the abysmal state of both biblical belief and behavior in the evangelical nation. With methods (i.e., doing church) having replaced the message, pan-evangelicals no longer find Scripture to be solely sufficient for matters of faith and practice… (Online source)
