DOWN WITH SOLA SCRIPTURA! 

 

Peter Rollins, a fast rising star within the Emerging Church aka Emergent Church, now morphing into Emergence Christianity, as espoused e.g. by his friend Rob Bell:

“What if one of the core elements of a radical Christianity lay in a demand that we betray it, while the ultimate act of affirming God required the forsaking of God? And what if fidelity to the Judeo-Christian scriptures demanded their renunciation? In short, what if the only way of finding faith involved betraying it with a kiss?”

And what if one of the core elements for genuine preachers of the Christian faith lay in a demand that we thoroughly test what they teach by Holy Scripture (Acts 17:11) so they wouldn’t be able to betray it; while the ultimate act of affirming God, required the forsaking of these false prophets? And what if fidelity to the Judeo-Christian Scriptures demanded that we study them to show ourselves approved (2 Timothy 2:15) in order to be able to accurately discern those whose mystic meanderings, in effect, actually equate to a renunciation of them?

In short, what if the only way of finding faith involved kissing goodbye to the teachings of those betraying it? By employing the insights of proper Biblical theology and eschewing speculative theory this pastors seeks, Lord willing, to be among those faithful ministers of the Gospel now working toward destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5, NASB).

For the Lord’s glory may we destroy, once and for all, the subversive and clandestine nature of this Emergence deformation of pseudo-Christianity, which right now dwells within too many apostatizing evangelical institutions while simultaneously undermining them. I’m just sayin’…
