Brad Cooper, “the Anderson Campus Student Pastor at NewSpring Church (NSC) in Anderson, SC”, has been brought to the attention of Apprising Ministries. NPC is the roost of Perry Noble, one of those mentioned in Purpose-Driven Popes Of The Carolinas Have Spoken. 

Cooper’s Twitter bio informs us:

clever repartee fills my mouth. rhythm saturates my ears. life floods my veins. (Online source) 

And it’s precisely some of this so-called “clever repartee” which forms the basis for our concern here. We’ve come across an article written yesterday by a man named David Horn called My concern with Brad Cooper from NewSpring Church.

In it Horn tells us: 

I have been trying to get Brad Cooper Student Pastor from NewSpring Church to talk with me about his comments referring to FUSE. Brad Cooper used the acronym BAMF to describe the body of Christ. The acronym is so filthy and vulgar that I refuse to put it on my blog. 

For those of you interested in this relevant worldly “hip” acronym BAMF you can google it, but beware you will be in for a shock. How can a pastor use such a foul term to describe the bride of Christ? (Online source) 

You may believe me that it brings no pleasure whatsoever to have drag this kind of stuff out into the Light, but those of you familiar with AM know that as a former secular high school football coach I have been given a pastor’s heart for young people by the Lord. 

That’s why something like this would certainly arrest my immediate attention. AM also happens to a leading ministry countering the Emerging Church aka Emergent Church—morphing into Emergence Christianity—so we’re also VERY familiar with foul-mouthed “Christians.” However, this would be about the worst I’ve seen, and that’s saying a lot.

Now, for those who cannot deal with filthy language, please skip the rest of this sentence: BAMF stands for Bad A** Mother F***ker. But there’s zero doubt B-Coop’s quite common pseudo-street “repartee” includes the use of this repugnant term because Horn places a picture of the following Tweets from Cooper’s Twitter account: 

Fuse* Factory looking bamf! (Online source) 

6pm service is going to be BAMF! (Online source) 

Let’s pray that NSC Senior Pastor Perry Noble will 1) have Cooper publicly repent for his public sin of using coarse language, and 2) have the decency to at least respond to Horn’s most sincere, and dead-on-target assessment, concerning this use of a foul-mouth around the youth he’s supposed to be an example for. 

Horn is exactly right when he says: 

I find it alarming that NewSpring has not dealt with this in public. Since Brad Cooper used this term twice, that I know about in public, referring to the body of Christ, then NewSpring should correct this in public and Brad Cooper apologize to our community in public.

This is not an unreasonable request by me. This type of filth should not be used to describe the church especially by a student pastor! Parents, how would you feel if you son or daughter starting referring to stuff as BAMF? When you ask where did they hear such speech? The answer is,”Brad Cooper from FUSE! He is so cool and relevant to us!”

Join me and e-mail NewSpring Church to demand a public apology from Brad Cooper and NewSpring Church. Contact the local media and report this please. Help me to stand up against this type of abuse and irresponsibility by speaking out peacefully using our freedom of speech and freedom of the press. (Online source)
