CHRIS ROSEBROUGH THOROUGHLY DEBUNKS MEL WHITE

For the benefit of new readers of Apprising Ministries, in Communion With Outlaw Preacher Khad Young we talked further about a mini-movement of self-styled “ministers” now slithering around the outskirts of the egregiously ecumenical Emerging Church aka Emergent Church—currently morphing into Emergence Christianity—(EC).
These rebels against Sola Scriptura call themselves outlaw preachers and they’re beginning to band together—chiefly around gay-affirming “pastor” Jay Bakker, the original outlaw preacher. One of these is Connie Waters, a gay-affirming “pastor” of something called New Bridge Faith Community, which AM introduced in Jay Bakker In Memphis On Same-Sex Marriage.
A couple of weeks ago Waters Tweeted to my friend Chris Rosebrough of Pirate Christian Radio:

The link Waters sent Rosebrough is to What the Bible Says – And Doesn’t Say – About Homosexuality by Mel White, “co-founder of Soulforce”; AM talked a bit about this quite aggressive pro-gay organization, which claims to be Christian, in Richard Rohr: Letter Of Endorsement For Soulforce. These biblically illiterate rebels against the final authority of God’s Word got pretty excited about White’s whims.
Then not long after his wishful musings made the rounds in the outlaw preachers camp concerning their pet doctrine, which is affirming that a lifestyle of the unrepentant practice of homosexuality is a viable one for the Christian, EC theologian Tony Jones posed a question at his blog for discussion as we touch on in Tony Jones Will Discuss Homosexuality But Not From Scripture.
This now has the outlaws all revved up again; in fact, just today Bakker repeats the link for a second time:

As I pointed out in Jay Bakker Dreaming Rosebrough has offered to meet Bakker, the chief outlaw—whom Waters assures us is a real scholar—in a public debate on homosexuality and so-called gay marriage using the Bible. However, Bakker won’t touch that offer because even the extremely liberal scholar John Shelby Spong admits the case can’t be made from Scripture.
You need to know that in his article all Mel White actually does is to make again all of the same old tired arguments that have long been advanced by liberal theology. Below Rosebrough painstakingly—and Biblically—tears apart many of them, revealing these doctrines of demons perpetrated through seducing spirits for exactly what they are: Did God really say?
