There’s very good reason why in posts like Ex-Homosexual Friend Of Apprising Ministries I’ve been warning you here at Apprising Ministries  that there’s a very dark and threatening same-sex storm, right now, approaching hurricane force, and which is currently only slightly off the coast of your own local church. Briefly, as I said e.g. in Jay Bakker Reflects The Sad Condition Of The Visible Church, the wide, and very rapid, advance of the egregiously ecumenical Emerging Church—which is a cult of neo-liberalism now firmly within mainstream of the visible church—will come with a heavy cost.

You see in their lust for number$, for nearly a decade, pretending to be Protestant mainstream evangelical churches have used their Young Adult and Youth ministries as spiritual guinea pigs by using many materials from Emergent Church leaders. Online apologetics and discernment ministries tried to warn you the primary goal of the EC has been to attack Sola Scriptura. And it’s been very successful in doing so through spreading a corrupt Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism responsible for creating the current evangelical fad of practicing what’s merely refried mysticism-lite of apostate Roman Catholicism. 

This is the reason why God moved me to begin covering the issue of a growing acceptance within evangelicalism that the deviant and sinful lifestyle of having sexual relations with another of the same sex, i.e homosexuality, is a viable one for the regenerated Christian. And the EC is already making acceptance of this sin of sexual immorality for the Christian an hot-button issue. Tip-of-the-spear for this area of attack upon proper biblical Christianity is gay-affirming “pastor” Jay Bakker of Revolution:NYC; joining the EC elete in the upcoming Big Tent Christianity: Being and Becoming the Church.

To see the not-so-distant future for mainstream squishy evanjellyfish you need only look e.g. at how the highly divisive homosexual lobby is ripping apart the Episcopal Church right now. In his article “For the Sake of God” — Must We Surrender Sexual Morality? Dr. Al Mohler, who’s hardly someone we’d consider a radical, points out:

The ordination of Mary Glasspool as a bishop of the Episcopal Church on Sunday drives yet another wedge into the already fracturing Anglican Communion — and raises some of the most fundamental questions about the church and sexual morality.

Bishop Glasspool, ordained as an auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Los Angeles along with another woman, becomes the second openly-homosexual priest to be elected as an Episcopal bishop, and the first lesbian. As the Associated Press reported, “Seven years after the Episcopal Church caused an uproar by consecrating its first openly gay bishop, it has done the same thing again — only this time with a woman.”

In 2003, the Episcopal Church set off an explosion in the Anglican Communion by consecrating V. Gene Robinson as Bishop of New Hampshire. Robinson became the first openly-homosexual bishop serving anywhere in the Anglican Communion, the world-wide fellowship of churches related to the Church of England. In response, the Anglican Communion sternly asked the American church to refrain from any further ordinations of homosexual bishops and from offering an official blessing to same-sex unions. This past summer, the Episcopal Church announced its decision to defy that request. Bishop Glasspool’s ordination is the concrete demonstration of that defiance.

The stage is now set for an all-out conflict within the Anglican Communion. This conflict will pit the conservative Anglican churches of the “Global South” against the far more liberal churches of North America, and potentially against the Archbishop of Canterbury himself… (Online source)

First of all, the Scripture is crystal clear women are not to elders, let alone an overseer of other elders; and secondly, the Episcopal Church is ordaining someone who’s unrepenatntly living the deviant and sinful lifestyle of having sexual relations with another of the same sex, i.e homosexuality, which is a sin of sexual immorality, plain and simple. The link takes us to Russell’s blog and her post “The strife is o’er”; and you may recall I first mentioned  practicing lesbian “Rev.” Susan Russell, a parish “priest” at All Saints Church and former president of Integrity USA in Rejecting Sola Scriptura Opens The Door For Lesbian Episcopal Priests. In her post Russell begins quoting:

I sang “The strife is o’er” not out of ignorance about the struggle ahead. I read the blogs. I get the press releases. I walked past the pickets outside the Long Beach Arena. I cringed as the angry protesters screamed at us at the beginning of the service yesterday.

I didn’t sing out of ignorance — I sang out of the sure and certain knowledge that God’s love is stronger than all the fear, division, ignorance and bigotry the world can throw at us. I sang out of the confidence that power behind us IS greater than the challenge ahead of us when that power is the power of the abundant love of God. (Online source)

And this is also what the Emerging Church 2.0, now advancing its new big tent form of Progressive Christianity they call Emergence Christianity, is working hard to also detonate within the walls of mainstream evangelicalism; sooner than you may think. In closing this, for now, I’ll say again that as noble on a human level as Russell et al sound, this is in direct contradiction with what God has said concerning same sex sexual relations. God’s marriage covenant is a male to a female; and all sexual relations outside of marriage are to be considered sexual immorality. There is no way around that.
