The Bible Very Clearly Says Homosexuality Is Sin

Apprising Ministries has reminded you, e.g. in Doug Pagitt, Emerging Christianity, And Lancaster Theological Seminary, that heretical quasi-universalist pastor Doug Pagitt heads Solomon’s Porch where the equally heretical Tony Jones is his “theologian in residence.” As you may know, this dubious duo holds much sway within the egregiously ecumenical Emerging Church aka Emergent Church with its new postmodern version of Progressive Christianity they call Emergence Christianity (EC); and which, is now a full-blown neo-liberal cult firmly entrenched within mainstream evangelicalism.

In Tony Jones And Courtney Perry Et Al I told you that Pagitt and Jones were the master-minds behind a recent EC apostasia-palooza they called Christianity 21 (C 21), which I  covered in such pieces as Christianity 21: Emerging Voices Of A Pseudo-Christian Faith and Tony Jones And Christianity 21: The Future Of Apostate Christianity. It was supposed by this deleterious duo of JoPa Productions that C 21 featured alleged “innovative” and “most important voices for the future of Christianity” who then spoke “into our future” in order that they might “shape the future of our faith.”

All of the speakers at C 21, by design, were women; so a big part of the EC future with its Liberalism 2.0 reads as follows: The New Christians With Christianity Worth Believing—No Sola Scriptura: Yes, Women Pastors And Queer Christians. As I’ve said before, a main goal for the Emerging Church 2.0—in the spiritual circus under its “big tent”—is to make the deviant lifestyle of unrepentant homosexuality acceptable for even the evangelical Christian. I’ve previously shown you that C 21 “voice” Seth Donovan runs the Confessing Queer (CQ) blog, begun in October of 2009 just after Donovan:

Interestingly enough, a couple of Donovan’s “co-confessors” at CQ happen to be “queer inclusive” ELCA “pastor,” and former “professional f**k-up,” Nadia Bolz-Weber—a fellow c 21 voice—and practicing lesbian “Christ-follower” Adele Sakler of the EC group Queermergent, along with Rachel Swan from Sweet Bi and Bi. More on that in a minute; first, it’s important to note that Donovan would tweet:

You likely know that gay-affirming “pastor” Jay Bakker of Revolution:NYC is the leader of the self-described Outlaw Preachers (OPs), a rather rapscallion bunch of largely biblically illiterate folks who’ve been spawned by his ministry lying of to LGBTQ people and withholding from them the Gospel of repentance and forgiveness of sins in Jesus’ Name, thereby simply leaving such as these trapped within their sin. Well, I warned you e.g. in Jay Bakker Reflects The Sad Condition Of The Visible Church of his continued growth in stature within the EC—as well as his insidious band of antinomian OPs.

I’ve told you that Bakker is actually the tip-of-the-spear for the EC advance into mainstream evangelicalism pushing for acceptance that having sexual relations with another of the same sex, i.e homosexuality, within a monogamous relationship is also a viable one for the regenerated Christian. But in order to do so the EC would first have to circumvent the final authority of the Bible; and this is precisely why its primary goal has been to attack Sola Scriptura through spreading corrupt Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism ala  Living Spiritual Teacher and Quaker mystic Richard Foster.

Along with his spiritual twin and Southern Baptist minister Dallas Willard, whom Living Spiritual Teacher and EC guru Brian McLaren told you were “key mentors for the emerging church”[1], Foster successfully foisted his contrived “spiritual disciplines” of asceticism-lite Pietism upon your evangelical Young Adult and Youth ministries under the guise of so-called Spiritual Formation. With an able assist from EC luminaries they are the ones who’re now responsible for creating the current mainstream evanjellyfish fad of practicing what’s merely refried mysticism-lite of apostate Roman Catholicism.

But The Solomon’s Porch Community Decided It Doesn’t Feel That Homosexuality Is Sin

Now against this proper background I bring you back around to Doug Pagitt, his theologian at Solomon’s Porch Tony Jones, and Confessing Queer contributor Rachel Swan from Sweet Bi and Bi. In Where Are My Critics Now? Jones issued the order:

I am asking all of you to never click on a link posted by Ken Silva, or Christian Research Net, or Lighthouse Trails Research, or Apprising Ministries. Never use their names in a post or on a website (as I just did).

And if you’ve got any old posts that link to their site, delete the links. I’m not asking you to do this because I’m afraid of criticism.  If you’ve followed me at all in the past few years, you know that I’m not. I’m asking you to do these things because these critics are dishonest. But what’s this got to do with EC pastor Pagitt and Solomon’s Porch; well, I’m glad you asked. You see, today in her post Our Soapbox Rachel tells us:

if you look over ——> there in the sidebar, you will note that one of the communities I heart is Solomon’s Porch. Sweetie and I started attending a little over a year ago… From the website “Solomon’s Porch is a community seeking to live the dreams and love of God in the way of Jesus.”… Last night, Sweetie and I gave a soapbox sermon. Its not so much sermon-y, but more a talk like thing. (Online source)

Swan also informs us that she’s a, “Bartender turned God chaser, Queer (bi), Un-Cool, Friend to the Other”; and of her “soapbox” with her female companion, Tony Jones tweeted to Swan:

From posts like Tony Jones: Influential Theologian Of Emergence Christianity Out Of The Closet we already knew that this self-described progressive theologian believes that the unrepentant practice of homosexuality is fine for the Christian; however, until now the position of his friend Doug Pagitt hadn’t been quite as clear. Pastor Pagitt’s church heard from Rachel last night that:

A few weeks ago, Doug passed along an email from someone who had written to him if Solomon’s Porch is “gay and lesbian accepting.” Doug sent the email to us asking if we’d answer it because he thought it would be better to have an answer from people within the community rather than his answer. Swan then explains that in her answer that she said:

My name is Rachel, and my partner and I are a part of Solomon’s Porch community. Doug Pagitt asked if we would connect with you to answer your email about Solomon’s Porch… We showed up at the porch because we had met some porch folks and they were just really nice. And “normal.” We immediately noticed that whether we were queer or not was not an issue–not interesting and not disturbing…  (Online answer)

Quite obviously it appears that pastor Pagitt does not consider this couple to be in a sinful lifestyle; so therefore, the Gospel of repentance and forgivness of sins in Jesus’ Name—and He even died for the sin of homosexuality—is not being preached to them because it Swan informs us that it “was not an issue.” However, as I showed in Jesus Defines Marriage For Red Letter Christians, Jesus says marriage is a male [man] to a female [woman] so all homosexual activity will always be outside of the marriage covenant from a Biblical standpoint; and therefore, is a sin of sexual immorality.

Rachel then continues with some personal background concerning “churches” she’s attended:

I have looked for a church that would just take me as I am… I have been to a lot of places, worked with a lot of people and been a part of many church/community conversations. There are a lot churches who have stickers, flags and belief statements that explicitly affirm how much they love and fully welcome LGBT people. I am glad that they are a part of our God family.

For some who have been told they are going to hell, or worse, these places are a refuge for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. These churches are places that they can know when they can walk in, worship and participate, that they will not have to face one more fire and brimstone, love the sinner/hate the sin sermon. They won’t be barred from participating in communion. (Online answer)

Anyone who is in unrepentant sin, of any kind, shouldn’t partake of communion; and any “church” that practices homopression by withholding the Gospel from LGBTQ people, for whom Christ also died, is providing strong testimony toward the idea that it isn’t really a part of the genuine family of God, the Body of Christ. The real Christian grieves over sin and longs to see sinners reconciled to God through the finished work of the Cross of Jesus Christ; as I pointed out in Because I Love Jay Bakker And LGBTQ People, true love requires being willing to tell someone the truth, regardless of the cost.

The absolute truth is, anyone claiming to be a minister of the Gospel must also proclaim, without reservation, what the Bible clearly says; and this, no matter what personal price we may end up having to pay. Of pastor Pagitt’s Solomon’s Porch Rachel Swan tells us:

There are several out gay men and lesbians in the community… I firmly believe that God and the church universal is actually working out this conversation about homosexuality and the church. I can tell you that my partner and I have never felt so welcome in a place like we are at the porch… I feel safe here. When I say I want a church that will take me just as I am, I don’t want to belong to the “gay church” or the church for women, or church for cat owners, or churches that gather around the commonality of their members. (Online answer)

How pathetic and sad; not that one would feel safe, but rather, that someone living in open rebellion against the one true and living God would not be told by Pagitt, Jones et al that unless they repent of their sin — whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him (John 3:36). And here’s the bottom line: Pouty postmodernism of not, Solomon’s Porch purports itself to be a Christian church; and because Doug Pagitt himself claims to be pastor of this church, then whether he likes it or not, James 3:1 applies to him and he will be judged with greater strictness.

Pastor Pagitt, please repent and accept the forgivness of sins available through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
