You Best Wake Up Because This Is Happening To Evangelicalism Right Now

Apprising Ministries has been warning about, and documenting, the sad slide of largely pretending to be Protestant evangelicalism into becoming what I’ve referred to as The Ecumenical Church Of Deceit (ECoD); and much of the current sorry state of the church visible can be traced back through to the semi-pelagian (at best) man-centered Church Growth Movement (CGM) of Fuller Theological Seminary.

Sadly, evangelicalism has now followed the ill-fated mainline denominations out of the closet of man-love, and its heart murmur spirituality at the expense the God-centered spirituality of sola Scriptura. Here I’ll give you a peek at its bleak future of division and compromise of God’s Word now that the mainstream has embraced the sinfully ecumenical neo-liberal cult of the Emergent Church aka the Emerging Church—with its  its “big tent” Progressive Christianity aka Emergence Christianity.

Desperate for numbers, having been corrupted by the Druckerite Church Growth Movement and losing faith in the all sufficiency of God’s Word, in the late 90’s more and more evangelical churches began seeking their solice in more man-pleasing messages and started using warped and toxic teachings of apostates like Living Spiritual Teacher and EC guru Brian McLaren, which means they ended up poisoning their own young.

This ignominious idea of telling people what they want to hear is itself the very hallmark of the Church Growth Movement, whether it’s the Purpose Driven pragmatism of PDL pope Rick Warren or the new postmodern version of liberalism’s gospel of social reform ala Emerging Church rock star pastor Rob Bell.  Or do you think it’s simply an odd coinicidence that both men happen to be graduates of Fuller Theological Cesspool Seminary—the very den from which this Church Growth Movement would slither.

And I’m here to say that it’s well past time for evangelical leaders and pastors to cease their dead on impression of Rip Van Winkle and wake up to the fact that the spiritual cancer of  highly subjective Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism (CSM), as perpetrated by Living Spiritual Teacher and Quaker mystic Richard Foster and advanced by Foster and his spiritual twin Dallas Willard as Spiritual Formation, is now metastasizing throughout the heart of the church visible.

So let me show you broad road it has now driven itself onto; first, you’ll need to understand that this EC cult of the new liberalism learned well from their evil forebears and have followed the exact same track they once used to infiltrate the now mortally wounded mainline denominations. The EC, which was launched by Leadership Network, has swallowed much of the largely spiritually obtuse evangelical camp, which they’ve been indoctrinating for years now through its own publishing houses, church-related schools, seminaries, denominations, etc.

I’m sorry to tell you, but there are many prominent names within the Emerging Church who have already infiltrated evangelical imstitutions, which is why you’re seeing their corrupt Bibliology already affecting the younger sectors of evangelicalism. You see, many of them are not old enough, or informed enough, to realize that they are being fed the same theological poison once dispensed by modern theology aka liberalism; it’s simply repackaged as a postmodern theology, i.e. a newer form of progressive/liberal theology.

There’s not really much difference because once you reject the text of the Bible, the only other place you can go is within corrupt human nature, which inevitably produces the same heresies that have now mortally wounded the mainline denominations. As we examine their history from the late 1960′s on we see they would begin the practice of spurious CSM whose immediate fruit is sinful ecumenicsm; the next step was the ordination of women to the office of pastor-teacher (i.e. senior teaching elder) in violation of Holy Scripture.

What happens next is this invariably leads to the rejection of the doctrine of Hell in favor of some supposed universal “Fatherhood of God and Brotherhood of man,” and the very next thing we observe was the embrace of the deviant lifestyle of homosexuality as a viable one for the Christian. I wish I had better news, but from my closely monitoring intel on the Internet, I can tell you for certain that much more of evangelicalism than you may even want to know is already well along on this broad path.

Should funding allow me to continue with Apprising Ministries I’m going to begin to take you through the various doctrines of classic liberalism, and its clone progressive Christianity—which is not progressive or Christian—so you’ll be able to see that the McLarens and Bells are basically regurgitating doctrines and arguments long ago debunked by Christian apologists e.g. like Dr. Walter Martin (1928-1989).

In closing this, for now, a good example is gay-affirming “pastor” Jay Bakker, leader of a support group called Revolution NYC trying to pass itself off as a church, and who heads up a rather rapscallion, and largely Biblically illiterate bunch in the Emerging Church who’ve crowned themselves Outlaw Preachers. While he seems to be very sincere in what he teaches, the fact remains, Bakker is sincerely ignorant when it comes to Scripture.

Sadly, so is much of mainstream evangelicalism who’ve been fed the mythology of the Emerging Church.
