ROB BELL A UNIVERSALIST; THE LIGHT HAS DAWNED

The blogosphere is agog with Rob Bell’s latest book promo video and the shocking content therein. Some of the big names in Christian blogging are daring to use the “u” word in connection with Bell. It’s about time. Some have been warning about Rob Bell’s universalism for a long time.In December 2008, Apprising.org’s Ken Silva wrote a piece called Rob Bell and Christian Universalism. Had some of the big names been listening, they would have been ahead of the game.
Here is Ken Silva’ piece on Rob Bell from 2008. His Apprising.org site is a treasure trove of reference material on Bell’s teachings. Kevin DeYoung and Justin Taylor are taking a lot of heat for their current exposure of Rob Bell and requests for prayer for them have been posted at other blogs.
I concur with those prayer requests for Kevin and Justin and would like to expand it for all who have been exposing false teachers over the years and who have paid a high price for it personally.
The spiritual battles are heating up, and readers of this blog and every blog faithful to the Word can lift up those who have been and continue to be on the front lines in the battle for biblical truth. (Online source)
As I told Ingrid in the combox:
Ingrid,
“Some have been warning about Rob Bell’s universalism for a long time.”
I’m so glad you pointed that out my friend. People like us have been exposing the mythology of Rob Bell (cf. 2 Tim. 4:3-4) for years now.
Sadly because the big names weren’t listening Bell, who’s long been a teacher of a postmodern form of liberalism and universalism, is now considered a mainstream evangelical.
And that they cannot lay at the feet of those of us in online apologetics and discernment ministry.
