Don’t Look Now, But Your Youth Are Already Infected

As part of the online apologetics and discernment labors in the Lord here at Apprising Ministries I do what I can to expose and document The New Downgrade that’s going on unopposed within the mainstream of the evangelical community.

For example yesterday in Opening Up The Shack, which also touches upon an apostate endeavor called The Shack Bible Project, I showed you again that Christian Universalism is slithering closer to outright acceptance despite it being another gospel—i.e. no gospel at all. Yet sadly, Rodney King’s philosophy of can’t we all just get along now trumps proper Biblical theology (cf. Galatians 1:6-9).

Spiritually spineless evanjellyfish is only beginning to pay for its foolish embrace of the sinfully ecumenical cult of the Emergent Church aka the Emerging Church. ^{[1 ]} By doing so they let ferocious wolves, and key EC mentors, like Living Spiritual Teacher and Quaker mystic Richard Foster along his spiritual twin Dallas Willard infect them with their corrupt Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism (CSM). ^[2]

This critical thinking skills-numbing CSM was a perfect fit for the highly subjective postmodern existentialism espoused e.g. by Living Spiritual Teacher and EC guru Brian McLaren, as well as by the other two members of the abhorrent unholy trinity of Emergent apostates; these would be heretical universalist Doug Pagitt and his equally heretical progressive/liberal “theologian in residence” and Fuller Theological Seminary professor Dr. Tony Jones.

My point being that, for over a decade now, the younger sectors of evangelicalism have been subjected to their EC propaganda, which was designed to blow up the pillar of proper Christian spirituality, sola Scriptura. Why do you think Emerging rock star mega-pastor Rob Bell would attack it right out of the box in his seminal book Velvet Elvis; I’ll tell you, in order to condition them to accept spurious CSM.

Now you might say, “That’s all well and good Silva, but what does this possibly have to do with Miley Cyrus?” Ooh, good question; thank you for asking. First of all, evangelicals who’re today desperate for acceptance by the world they so love and want to be a part of, have championed Cyrus as a good role model for young evangelical women and girls. Let’s consider Carolyn Arends in Christianity Today:

Ok, for the sake of argument here, we’ll assume Cyrus is indeed a young evangelical Christian woman. If so, to paraphrase a classic statement: Evangelicalism, we have a problem. Leaving aside the issue of whether tattoos are appropriate for the Christian, let me tell you that last Friday night Miley Cyrus tweeted having added one:

If you didn’t know this equal sign is a bold, not to mention permanent, stance in favor of same-sex marriage—as in all love is equal. However, even among her own followers you can see this created a bit of a stir and Cyrus would even fire back:

Miley Cyrus Does Profess Christianity, But What About Her Witness Before The World?

We note that Miley Cyrus misapplies what God’s Word teaches in this regard; but since many young evangelicals also do so, she’s hardly alone. That’s why, for our purpose here, I will only focus on the fact that Cyrus has held this pro-gay stance for quite some time. Back in April of 2009 MTV ran Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Heidi Montag Tweet About Same-Sex Marriage showing Cyrus’ favorable position.

The subtitle was: Cyrus, Montag mention religion in support of same-sex nuptials, and we were told:

Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears have taken to Twitter to support gay marriage, just days after Miss California Carrie Prejean sparked controvers during Sunday night’s Miss USA competition when asked by celeb blogger Perez Hilton if more states should legalize same-sex marriage…

“Love is love!” Britney Tweeted to Perez. “People should be able to do whatever makes them happy!”

Miley Cyrus Tweeted similar thoughts, telling Hilton, “Jesus loves you and your partner and wants you to know how much he cares! That’s like a daddy not loving his lil boy cuz he’s gay and that is wrong and very sad!

Like I said everyone deserves to be happy. I am a Christian and I love you — gay or not. Because you are no different that anyone else! We are all God’s children!” (Online source)

Here we have a terrible Christian witness from Miley Cyrus. Again, this is not at all in line with proper Christian theology because, prior to regeneration, one is not God’s child. However, it is a view growing more common among younger evangelicals, Biblically-challenged as they are, from years of Purpose Driven/Seeker Driven semi-pelagianism; and further, having been infected with the Emergent virus of pestilential CSM.

That’s for another day; in Miley Cyrus Sparks Gay Marriage Debate With ‘Equal’ Tattoo Christian Post adds:

Cyrus, who has more than 1.8 million Twitter followers, continues to spark debate on the micro-blogging site over the issue of gay marriage. The former Disney star vocalized her stance earlier this year when she mocked Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum for his opposition to gay marriage.

She tweeted in May, “IF WE ALLOW GAY MARRIAGE NEXT THING U KNOW PEOPLE WILL BE MARRYING GOLD FISH’ – Rick Santorum UO contributed $13,000 to this mans campaign.” The tween sensation and self-professed Christian was referring to retailer Urban Outfitters which has allegedly stolen jewelry designs.

Christian photographer Tammy Hudson responded to Cyrus’ tweet by asking what happened to “that Christian girl … with decent moral values and a lot of heart?” Cyrus shot back with, “What an ignorant statement. I don’t have ‘a lot of heart’ cuz [sic] I’m not gonna [sic] be a closed minded hypocrite? LOVE IS LOVE. GOD IS LOVE.” (Online source)

As I begin to close this, for now, let me give you an idea of how Cyrus’ recent Christian example is being played out by the LGBT community. I’ll share the following short post from something called Towleroad: A Site With Gay Tendencies; in fact, it’s so pro-gay that I cannot link to it, but a couple of days ago “Founder/Partner/President” Andy Towle would write:

Miley Cyrus has grown into quite the fierce gay advocate.

In addition  to calling out Urban Outfitters’ president for donating to Rick Santorum and regularly tweets messages of same-sex support, such as, “I am Christian  and I love you — gay or not.”

Now the singer has taken her pro-gay love  one step further by getting a marriage equality tattoo.

“All LOVE is  equal,” Cyrus wrote in a tweet with a picture of her new ink, an equal sign —  on her ring finger, prime anatomical real estate.

While many among the LGBT community may love Miley’s new ink, not all of her  fans are as supportive; Cyrus refuses to kowtow to them, though, and replied to  a homophobic message with inclusion: “Where does it say in the bible to judge  others? Oh right. It doesn’t. GOD is the only judge honey. ‘GOD is love.'”

Even if you don’t agree with her Christian slant or don’t like her music,  it’s impossible not to be touched by young Cyrus’ commitment to LGBT  progress.

No, this isn’t actually LGBT progress; from the proper Christian worldview, it’s homopression, which is really the inverse of homophobia. You may recall from Homopressive As Jay Bakker I told you that by homopression I mean withholding the truth from someone—Christian or not—who self-identifies as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and thereby leaving them under oppression in their sin of practicing sexual immorality.

You see, the abnormal and deviant lifestyle of having sexual relations with another of the same sex, i.e. homosexuality, will always be outside of the marriage covenant ordained by our God, and is therefore the sin of sexual immorality. Jesus of Nazareth—our Creator—Who, by the way is speaking from the perspective of an eyewitness below, told us when He stood upon His planet:

But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female. Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh.’ “ (Mark 10:6-8)

This forever does away with any actual support in the Bible for “gay marriage.” The reason being that, according to God Himself, marriage is only to be between a male (man) and a female (wife); there’s just no way around it in Scripture, which brings us right back to those iniquitous Emergent apostates who’re spewing their new postmodern form of Progressive Christianity, with whom I began this particular piece.

Now you know why these rebels against the final authority of God’s Word opened their campaign with a prolonged pounding against the perspicuity (means clarity) of the Bible. This neo-liberal cult, which has its own theology and leaders who interpret the Bible for them, had to destroy people’s faith in their ability to understand what God has said in order to advance their evil pro-gay agenda.

Frankly, evangelical leaders only needed to learn from history how the evil Emerging forebears in the original cult of liberalism used precisely the same methodology to entrap and mortally wound the now dying mainline denominations. Just look at how this highly divisive pro-gay lobby is right now viciously ripping them apart; and having long ago cut away the anchor of Holy Scripture, they’re now lost upon the sea of relativity.

Without an objective source—the Bible—to determine what God has said, you are left with only your own experience, wherein you guess what you think God may have said and then you make decisions based upon how you feel about a given subject. I’ll warn you again, EC leaders already know that they’ve taken captive much of the younger sectors of evangelicalism, like a Miley Cyrus, who now believe homosexuality is not sin.

Now consider Heartland Clergy Adopt Pro-Gay Position and Doug Pagitt And The Emerging Church Gay Agenda; I’ve explained that the tip-of-the-spear for this area of attack upon proper Biblical Christianity is gay-affirming “pastor” Jay Bakker of the “church” Revolution:NYC. There I’ve been doing what I can to alert you that there is indeed a same-sex storm gathering hurricane force, which is right now, looming only slightly off the horizon of the mainstream evangelical community. ^[3] Back in Jay Bakker Critiques Ken Silva At Religion Dispatches I told you that these Emergent vipers have long been brainwashing mainstream evangelicals through their Young Adult and Youth Groups.

Led out upon the postmodern playing field of existential and highly subjective experience they quickly find there are no rules i.e. evangelicalism is defenseless against such as these. For example, Bakker’s already told us about a personal chat he had with the LORD God Almighty Who apparently has confided in “Punk Pastor” Jay that He’s now changed His mind about the practice of homosexuality:

“The more I follow grace, the more I’m drawn to him [God], the more I’m willing to stand up for people being persecuted,” said Bakker. “It sounds so churchy, but I felt like God spoke to my heart and said ‘[homosexuality] is not a sin.’ ” (Online source, emphasis mine)

My advice is you’d best get ready for gay affirming arguments like the above, which are not based upon Scripture, because soon they will be erupting inside your own local church. I’m telling you, this issue is about to detonate within the walls of evangelical churches where EC advocates have already been planted. A source inside Mars Hill Bible Church tells me Rob Bell may soon perform same-sex weddings.

Also a major figure around Emerging Church circles, like a Tony Jones, is just about ready to come out as bisexual or gay; you had best come to understand that the Emerging Church 2.0 is mounting a full frontal attack on Biblical Christianity. Mark my words, more and more evangelical Christians already share the views expressed above by Miley Cyrus and below by “Hills” star Heidi Montag:

who is expected to marry the show’s Spencer Pratt this weekend. “God says in the bible that we should love our neighbor and he created us all as equals. I know in my heart that gays and lesbians should have the same government rights that Spencer and I will when we get married. So, yes, this blonde Christian believes in gay marriage and I hope to one day go to your wedding, Perez!!!”

Heidi’s and Miley’s Tweets have apparently led to a Twittermance. On Tuesday, Montag told Miley, “Let’s [meet] up!!!! we should have a bible study!! I love Miley!!!! Jesus loves Miley!” (Online source)

And even in this spiritual war Satan’s seducing spirits sneak around in the darkness with their didaskaliais daimonion (doctrines of demons). Well, I’m using the issue of homosexuality to light up the sky with the Word of God to give you a chance to see the wide, and very rapid, advance of the Emerging Church and its postmodern Progressive Christian theology.
