“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”
Hebrews 10:23The world itself is like unto a huge tempest, a wave in the ocean that hurls our way. We are but a small vessel and are tossed around violently. When I think of a Christian’s life, this is the picture in my head.
The movement of the world now is violent than ever. Now, we are seeing what were once notable Christian churches and establishments of education conform and allow secular teaching and conformity within the church. Being labeled as Christian now, means really nothing for the world says we too are Christians but deny the truth of the Gospel when it is presented. Church services no longer reflect the worship of a Holy God before the Throne of Grace, now it is more of a concert experience. Loud music, bands playing what is called worship music but usually the the songs are nothing more than self righteous me tunes.
Truly, being a Christian, a Biblical believing, Christ centered disciple is not what it used to be. When we announce ourselves as Bible believing followers, we are scorned and ridiculed for believing the Bible and God’s Word is literal. No longer are the doctrines of Hell, Genuine Repentance and Salvation preached in the halls of worship. These have all been traded in for a more worldly accepted doctrine and that is the doctrine of men. This can deter alot of Christians and upset them as the world and even the churches they once believed in change their stance on simple Biblical Doctrines and teachings.
It is hard brethren, it will be hard until He comes back and establishes His righteousness. A Christian life is one filled with many stumbling blocks and pit falls but we must arise from those that we fall and carry on that narrow path that is set before us. We are constantly bombarded by temptation and those that oppose Christ Jesus and His Word. I say to you though, don’t give in but Hold Fast! Why!
“In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
For Christ Jesus overcame the world! He overcame so that we might overcome what ever tribulation comes our way! We are not alone and never were, from before the foundations of the world, God had already had the plan set in motion that we could come to Christ Jesus and be saved from this world! Yes, I can tell you this world is but full of hate and as we, Christians remain faithful to our Redeemer, faithful to His word, the world will come at us and try everything to overthrow us but be of good cheer my brethren for Christ overcame this world! As the waves get higher and slam against us, remain strong in faith and know that Christ Jesus is not slack concerning His promises. For the day will come, perhaps tomorrow, perhaps the next for as each day passes we are to remain as if He was coming today, gird yourselves with His Word.
I know that there are many of you out there like myself who have just been overturned so many times, you feel as if you need to give up and throw in the towel but don’t friends! I have been there and down that road and I travel on it daily. I know that in the end, there shall be Christ Jesus embracing me as He has embraced others who have been persecuted and tormented through the many years. Our Redeemer is coming…prepare ye the way for Our Lord!
Hold Fast! Hold Fast! Keep the Faith! Stay the Course I say to you! For the day is coming…when Trumpet shall sound! The Day of the Lord is coming!
