JUSTIN PETERS ON MANGLED MANIFESTATIONS OF THE WORD FAITH MOVEMENT
By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on Jul 11, 2012 in AM Missives, Current Issues, Features, Word Faith
You’ve likely heard me talk quite a bit lately here at Apprising Ministries about the insipid cult of the Word Faith movement slithering deeper into the mainstream of the church visible.
Unfortunately, not much has been written about the cult of the Word Faith movement since the mid 90’s or so because people really haven’t thought it would make the inroads into the church visible that it has.
Now here’s something to keep in mind. Looking closely at the major Seeker Driven churches, their pastors are essentially stuck in the 90’s when most of them basically came of age. Notice their interest, speech, etc.
For example, prophet-führer Steven Furtick‘s beginning to assimilate himself into the Word Faith camp and to interact with some of his heroes who don’t talk much theology like T.D. Jakes and Jentezen Franklin.
As Furtick’s fickle fans follow him into this abyss they have little to no idea about actual Word Faith dogma, e.g. the “Born Again Jesus,” and frankly, I have my own doubts that Steven Furtick has a grasp on WF doctrine.
So, I’m pleased to point you to now to the following video below from Justin Peters of Justin Peters Ministries. Peters does an excellent, and quite thorough, job in giving you an overview of the key WF fables.
This clip is Session 2 of his “three session seminar which he has developed entitled A Call for Discernment.” ((http://www.justinpeters.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5:seminar-overview&catid=6&Itemid=5)) Following is an outline of what Justin Peters covers in this second session:
