RICK WARREN ENDORSING CATHOLICS COME HOME
By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on May 9, 2014 in AM Missives, Current Issues, Features, Rick Warren, Southern Baptist Convention
Recently, Apprising Ministries has brought you important articles like James Robison to Pope Francis “In Christ We Are Brothers” and No Tears for Lost Roman Catholics, Beth Moore, which build upon what I began to show you in Southern Baptists Assist the Roman Catholic Church to Infiltrate Evangelicalism.
You need to be aware that this idea of bringing the Roman Catholic Church into full fellowship with the evangelical community is a very real project for James Robison. ((He actually sees this as integral to preserve freedoms in America. Ignoring doctrinal differences Robison writes, “Believers must find common ground to resist the assault on truth, or the precious, including freedom,…When I joined Catholic philosopher Jay Richards, with the encouragement of faith and business leaders both Protestant and Catholic, to write the book INDIVISIBLE, we sought to communicate essential principles and help reveal the common ground we can and must stand on together on to protect faith, family, and freedom before it is cast aside by its enemies and those who are indifferent.”: http://www.jamesrobison.net/unity-is-not-sameness/, accessed 5/9/14. )) On May 2nd at his personal blog Robison told us in Pope Francis on LIFE TODAY: he also has some high profile people longing for this unity as well:
Yesterday I had the privilege of joining with Jack Hayford and Tom Phillips, Vice President of Billy Graham Library, and spoke in Virginia as part of a meeting hosted by concerned Catholic laymen and priests who are longing for people to come to know Christ, love Him, and love one another while reaching out to those who suffer.
Also on the program was Fr. Cantalamessa who holds the title “Preacher to the Papal Household.” Before our meeting, he spoke to Regent University students and proclaimed justification by faith through Christ and the grace of God essential for both salvation and life. He closed his message asking the student body to sing with him “Amazing Grace.” It was an amazing moment.
Then Jack Hayford, Tom Phillips, and I spoke on the need for spiritual awakening and the unity Jesus prayed for in John 17. (source, emphasis mine)
The Robison piece I mentioned at the top also features an apostate Anglican priest by the name of Tony Palmer who is:
a Bishop within the Anglican Episcopal Communion of the CEEC (Celtic Anglican Tradition), and is the Communion’s international Ecumenical Officer. In his role as Ecumenical Officer, he is also an official member of a Roman Catholic Ecumenical Delegation for Christian Unity and Reconciliation. (source, bold theirs)
Palmer is a notorious charismaniac and the “Bishop” also heads up “an internet-based, Inter-denominational Christian Convergent Community” ((http://thearkcommunity.org/who-we-are/, accessed 5/9/14, bold theirs.)) known as The Oder of the Ark Community (TOAC). We’re not surprised to find TOAC also embraces both charismania and corrupt Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism (CSM).
Lord willing, I’ll further fill you in re. Tony Palmer another time. It’s important that I begin to at least make you aware of Palmer because he’s actively advancing the mission of Roman Catholic Church Pope Francis to bring “Christians” back home to Rome. So, Palmer’s teaming up with James Robison is quite telling. ((It is significant, but not surprising as Robison tells us he’s supported Palmer “in mission outreaches for years”: http://www.jamesrobison.net/pope-francis/, accessed 5/9/14.))
I showed you in the 2011 piece James Robison and Rick Warren Working to Reverse the Protestant Reformation, Robison’s spiritual adultery is nothing new; though it has become more blatant. And, as you’ll see, he’s certainly not alone in his lust for the apostate Roman Catholic Church (RCC) to be considered a Christian denomination.
What you do need to know is that this labor to completely do away with the Reformation is right now becoming a real mission of charismaniacs and practitioners of CSM. Please also understand that, at the same time, funding has become a very real source of concern as to the future of this online apologetics and discernment ministry.
A stance such as the one I’m taking to vigorously oppose this attack upon the genuine Gospel of Jesus Christ and proper Biblical doctrine will come with a cost. Even so, I am a former Roman Catholic whom God in His infinite mercy chose to deliver from the slavery of Roman Catholic religion into the glorious liberty of the sons of God.
I also happen to be a pastor within the Southern Baptist Convention, for now, just as is Purpose Driven Pope Rick Warren. Should the Lord sustain me, I have every intention of doing all I can to help arouse God’s soldiers into fighting this onslaught of Roman Catholicism and to expose these apostates wherever I may find them.
With this in mind, before we leave James Robison and Tony Palmer, it’s important you see that Robison lent his considerable TBN forum to Palmer in order to help him get the following video clip of Pope Francis concerning “unity” further out into the charismatic community. ((Robison’s reach should not be underestimated as the other day he shared that, “You will have the opportunity of hearing a personal word from Pope Francis on LIFE Today on Monday, May 5, on major networks around the world”: http://www.jamesrobison.net/pope-francis/, accessed 5/9/14.)) A sector of Christendom that he greatly influences:
[mejsvideo src=”https://www.apprising.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/PopeRob2.mp4″ width=640 height=360]
Now, because my health at the time didn’t allow me to cover this when it happened, what you may not know is that the video of the Pope was originally made for Tony Palmer to show at the conference for ministry leaders put on each year by Word Faith charismaniac leader Kenneth Copeland. Charisma News put it this way:
Kenneth Copeland Ministries received a personal video message from Pope Francis. The attendees of KCM’s annual Ministers’ Conference were greatly inspired when presented with the pope’s greeting and a message he prepared. (source)
That fact is, Copeland pronounced his own blessing upon the message from the Pope and then prayed for him and the so-called unity of the Body of Christ. ((In fact Copeland said in his prayer that we “‘agree with him [the Pope] in his quest and his heart for the unity of the body of Christ … we come together in the unity of our faith. Halleluiah!’”: http://bit.ly/1fVJbS2, accessed 5/9/14.)) Here’s the bottom line: The WF charismaniac camp has, by and large, long been sinfully ecumenical just as is SBC megapastor Rick Warren. This they all have in common now.
So, when WF Pope Kenneth Copeland says the Roman Catholic Church is a Christian denomination, so will the entire WF camp. It’s only a matter of time before we’ll see this become a push from WF royalty e.g. T.D. Jakes and Joel Osteen. The same can be said for the Purpose Driven/Seeker Driven community after their own PDL Pope.
Keep in mind that the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) still makes a very hefty profit through carrying the online 2002 series Believing God (BG) from Beth Moore, which is still offered for a price today by the SBC’s Lifeway as you’ll see here:
(source)
Let me remind you here that Lifeway is the official publishing arm of the SBC, which is reputed to be the largest Protestant denomination in the United States. We also note that this LifeWay-sponsored BG Online Bible Study is from over a decade ago. So I say, ask yourself: Is what I’m about to see in line with the Reformation?
Yes, I’ve used these clips before; and I plan to continue doing so in hopes that God will help some of the many Moore-ites see that their “Miss Beth” is listening to a lying spirit. ((see 1 Kings 22:5-23; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)) Quasi-elder, prophetess Beth Moore, tells us God gave her a literal vision where she claims He allowed her to see “the Church, as Jesus sees it” Himself:
[mejsvideo src=”https://www.apprising.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/BethVision.mp4″ width=640 height=360]
If one is unbiased, the following should now be crystal clear: 1) Beth Moore is talking about the universal Church, i.e. the Body of Christ; 2) she’s also claiming extra-biblical revelation via a literal vision that she testifies God showed her, and 3) it supposedly enabled her to see the Church as Jesus views it.
I encourage you to keep all of this in mind now as you watch the next video clip, which I actually took from a section of BG that comes directly after God allegedly gave Beth Moore that literal vision affording her the ability, in a “particular dimension,” to see the Body of Christ exactly as Christ Jesus does.
Watch as Moore illustrates the vision concerning “something different” she sees “God doing” in the Church; i.e.“the body of Christ.” You’ll clearly see that she does include the apostate Roman Catholic Church, which long ago anathematized the Gospel of Jesus Christ, among her Christian denominations:
[mejsvideo src=”https://www.apprising.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/BethVisionCathDenom.mp4″ width=640 height=360]
Now that you are aware of how the deceitful spirits (cf. 1 Timothy 4:1) are using their evangelical dupes at this particular point of attack, let me remind you that just about a year ago Stand Up for the Truth asked the key question Does Rick Warren want you to “Come Home” to the Catholic Church? We read:
Make no mistake; this Catholics Come Home movement is not just to bring “lapsed Catholics” into the system of Rome. ( see The Eucharest: the New Evangelization targets you, Christian!) It’s target is everyone, including Bible-believing Christians. The project’s founder, Tom Peterson, has opened the doors to entice Protestants and people of other faiths to Catholicism;… (source)
Well a year later Rick Warren, one of the highest profile ministers in the SBC (Slowly Becoming Catholic), continues to endorse this Catholics Come Home movement as well as the book Catholics Come Home: God’s Extraordinary Plan for Your Life. At its website Warren is the only evangelical endorsement:
“The mission of Tom Peterson and Catholics Come Home to bring souls home to Jesus and the church is critically important during this challenging time in our history. I fully support this New Evangelization project.”
—Rick Warren, author of The Purpose Driven Life (source)
As you can see below, the graphic at the top of this piece is taken from the Catholics Come Home Book Ad with Endorsements video to follow. Published on the CatholicsComeHome You Tube channel, we’re told:
This short commercial promotes Tom Peterson’s new book, Catholics Come Home: God’s Extraordinary Plan for Your Life, encouraging people to learn the seven secrets to happiness, peace, and purpose. It includes endorsements from Coach Lou Holtz, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Pastor Rick Warren, and Actress Roma Downey. (source)
You might recall my article Rick Warren and his Brother, “His Eminence” Timothy Cardinal Dolan Archbishop of New York from last year where I showed you that in a 2005 report on Warren by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette we find:
“Now I don’t agree with everything in everybody’s denomination, including my own. I don’t agree with everything that [Roman] Catholics do or Pentecostals do, but what binds us together is so much stronger than what divides us,” he said.
“I really do feel that these people are brothers and sisters in God’s family. I am looking to build bridges with the Orthodox Church, looking to build bridges with the [Roman] Catholic Church,… (source, emphasis mine)
Let’s avoid wrestling with the serpent here: No one’s arguing that there are not individual Roman Catholics who have been saved. However, the critical point is that they find the Gospel in spite of what the apostate Roman Catholic Church teaches. The truth is, Dr. R.C. Sproul is dead-on-target when he says:
there are believers, true believers, here and there in the Roman Catholic Church, and Liberal Churches and so on. They are mavericks to their community, and I personally believe that those people who truly accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior in the Biblical sense, who live in the Roman Catholic Church, have a moral and spiritual duty to leave that communion immediately!
They are living in sin by continuing to be a visible member of an institution that anathematizes the Gospel of Jesus Christ! (source)
As I get set to close this out, I’ll remind you again that—in spite of what I’ve shown you here—Rick Warren is a featured speaker at the SBC pastor’s conference 2014. ((http://www.sbcpc.net, accessed 5/9/14, click Speakers.)) Yet in Rick Warren And Teachings Of Demons I told you about a section of the Purpose Driven Church website that was devoted to Purpose Driven Catholics. ((The page loads slowly so please wait for it; and if you click each of the Helpful Links they will still take you to the pro-Roman Catholic sources.))
Sadly, webpages concerning Rick Warren are apt to suddenly vanish unexpectedly. So, what you’ll see here below via screen capture was long ago stored away as hard copy on file at AM. As you click on the above link for PD Catholics you’ll be taken to a section, which at the top of the page, you’ll see was called Catholics.
This section itself extended from Purpose Driven Denominations:
(source, click to enlarge)
Keep in mind here that the “helpful links” above were for people in the Purpose Driven Christian denomination called Purpose Driven Catholics; and this, yet again, is Warren professing to believe one thing ((Rick Warren professes to believe the 5 solas of the Protestant Reformation: http://thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/justintaylor/2010/03/31/rick-warren-monergist/, accessed 5/9/14.)) and actually doing something else. God’s Word, the Bible, speaks of this as being double-minded (cf. James 1:8).
The SBC said nothing then, and this year is actually rewarding Rick Warren with a high profile speaking engagement; ((The aforementioned pastor’s conference 2014 leads directly into the SBC’s huge annual meeting: http://www.sbcpc.net, click About, accessed 5/9/14..)) no wonder the SBC is dying. In contradistinction, let me share the following comment from Mike Gendron of Proclaiming the Gospel, a Friend of Apprising who personally endorses this labor in the Lord.
Gendron is to be commended for what he says in his latest newsletter:
Rick Warren’s endorsement of a book calling Catholics home to an apostate religion that shuts the gates of heaven to those wanting to enter is a grievous offense.
He either does not know the exclusivity of the Gospel of grace or he does not know how Roman Catholicism has corrupted and perverted it.
Finally, perhaps the leadership of the SBC is in agreement with John Piper, whom you’ll see below went on record to trumpet that Rick Warren is “theological and doctrinal, and sound.” I wonder, what is it going to take for John Piper, and the SBC, to finally see that Warren’s working against the advance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ:
