RICK WARREN VIOLATING 2 CORINTHIANS 6:14-18…AGAIN
By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on May 31, 2008 in AM Missives, Current Issues, Rick Warren, Southern Baptist Convention
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God.
As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)
Is Rick Warren Really Bigger Than The Church of Jesus Christ?
Indeed this is becoming a very familiar theme for Purpose Driven Pope Rick Warren. Over at Slice of Laodicea we read from Ingrid Schlueter:
Today the news was announced that Rick Warren is on the Advisory Council for Tony Blair’s new Faith Foundation which promises to bring the Abrahamic faiths together to fight social ills. Tony Blair’s group is designed to fulfill the United Nations’ Millennium Goals.

Clearly this bringing “Abrahamic faiths together to fight social ills” in the Tony Blair Faith Foundation (TBFF) places all of this into a religious context. And Schlueter is also correct as she continues at SoL:
This article from the Associated Press tonight quotes Tony Blair as he explains his definition of “religious extremism” which he hopes to combat with his new group.
In a brief interview, Blair said he defined extremists as “people who want to exclude the other if someone is of a different faith.” Blair told the crowd that although Islamic extremism draws the most attention, “there are elements of extremism in every major faith.”
Mr. Blair would clearly have had a hard time with Jesus and his exclusive message of salvation through His merits alone. Those believers who believe Christ’s claims in Scripture that He alone is the way, the truth and the life, and who will not engage in pluralistic, interfaith dialogue with other world religions are going to increasingly be labeled “extremists”. Rick Warren has signed on to Mr. Blair’s unbiblical United Nations-based agenda, and through his newly formed P.E.A.C.E. Coaliton, he is leading evangelicals around the world to sign on as well. Where will you stand? (ibid)
It really isn’t hard to see why Warren would find himself in agreement with the extremely liberal Tony Blair as you might recall that the PDL Pope is already on record concerning narrow, legalistic and fundamentalist “extremists” when he pontificated:
Today there really aren’t that many Fundamentalists left; I don’t know if you know that or not, but they are such a minority; there aren’t that many Fundamentalists left in America … Now the word “fundamentalist” actually comes from a document in the 1920s called the Five Fundamentals of the Faith. And it is a very legalistic, narrow view of Christianity,… (Online source)
And among the people Rick Warren of the Southern Baptist Convention has yoked himself with on the advisory council of the TBFF—in addition to apostate Roman Catholic Tony Blair—would be Rabbi David Rosen, KCSG International Director of Interreligious Affairs; American Jewish Committee Chairman, International Jewish Committee for Interreligious Consultations — IJCIC and Zen Buddhist Roshi Joan Halifax, Abbot, Upaya Zen Center. You might recall Roshi Halifax from the Apprising Ministries coverage of another unbiblical yoking in Seeds of Compassion Event: Dalai Lama with Rob Bell and Doug Pagitt.
All we can do at AM is keep warning the Body of Christ that Rick Warren is continuing to play fast and loose with God’s Word, which without a doubt prohibits his joining with this TBFF—no matter how noble human beings might think its cause may be. That others are also ignoring the Word of God is irrelevant to our discussion here concerning “America’s Pastor” and arguably the most prominent pastor in the allegedly “Protestant” Slowly Becoming Catholic.
The fact remains that Warren is flat wrong to be doing what he is doing with the TBFF. And in addition, as a former Roman Catholic and now an SBC pastor myself, I have already pointed out in Rick Warren: “Every Facet of Christianity — Including Catholicism” that Warren is also dead wrong by daring to try and reverse the Lord’s Reformation of His Church. Sadly though, the question which still remains is: Will men in high profile evangelical leadership with intestinal fortitude finally arise to confront Rick Warren on his many clearly unbiblical activities; such as the above, and with his promoting The Cult of Guru Richard Foster?
Well, until then the Church will have to rely on women like Ingrid Schlueter to do it. And I for one applaud her willingness to make this stand.
