The link takes us to McLaren’s website and his post Civil (even Christian?) discourse … where McLaren tells us he’s “learned not to spend a lot of time reading amazon reviews and blogs about my books”; but, it would seem, “someone named John posted one today” that McLaren apparently just felt compelled to interact with. We’re told “John,” who’s not sourced anywhere I could find, allegedly said, “McLaren attempts to drive a wedge between the teachings of Jesus and the Apostle Paul.”

Interestingly enough while defending his positions Brian McLaren found an excuse reason to plug his book via a link. This post, in my view, is McLaren merely confirming what I covered concerning how he deals with criticism in my aforementioned piece. And wouldn’t you know McLaren managed to work in:

thankfully, other people can actually read the book themselves to see how fair and balanced the reviewers have been.
