As you may know, Apprising Ministries is an online apologetics and discernment work specializing in analyzing current trends within the visible church, apprising you as to what they are, and how you can deal with them. One trend we’ve watched very carefully since 2005 was the rise of the egregious Emergent Church aka the Emerging Church; now a full-blown neo-liberal cult operating within mainstream evangelicalism.

It’s vital for you to realize that the EC also proved to be a Trojan Horse from which critical-thinking skills numbing Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism (CSM), such as that taught by Living Spiritual Teacher and Quaker mystic Richard Foster—along with his spiritual twin and Southern Baptist minister Dallas Willard under the guise of so-called Spiritual Formation, would be unloaded.

The Emerging Church would also open the door into the heart of the visible church for the warped and toxic teachings of people like rock star EC pastor Rob Bell and his good friend, heretical quasi-universalist EC pastor Doug Pagitt, who heads the emerging gathering Solomon’s Porch where the equally heretical Tony Jones happens to be his progressive/liberal “theologian in residence.” This quite dubious duo of Pagitt and Jones comprise two thirds of the unholy Emergent trinity along with Living Spiritual Teacher and leading EC guru Brian McLaren.

Far from dead, we’re now faced with an upgraded version—the Emerging Church 2.0—complete with its own theology of a new postmodern form of “big tent” Progressive Christianity now perpetrated by the EC; a Liberalism 2.0—sometimes referred to by these rebels against the final authority of God’s Word as Emergence Christianity. Among their awful effects has been the demolition of sola Scriptura and the capturing of large sectors of evangelical youth.

Since I’ve already covered this further in Toxic Theology Of Doug Pagitt, here I’ll simply tell you that progressive Christianity holds to universalism; precisely as Rob Bell presents his argumentation in favor of in his judgmentless Love Wins mythology. Despite all of the emerging whining to the contrary this really is nothing new for Bell because, as I told you back in December of 2008 in Rob Bell And Christian Universalism, he’s been leaning that way for years.

Another poison fruit of these emerging vipers is their pro-gay agenda; while Bell hasn’t rung in…yet…both Doug Pagitt and Tony Jones openly affirm those unrepentantly practicing homosexuality as I showed you earlier in Doug Pagitt And His Solomon’s Porch Affirm Homosexual Sin. I also told you last August in Doug Pagitt And The Emerging Church Gay Agenda that the EC is already making acceptance of this sin of sexual immorality for the Christian a prime hot-button issue within the church visible.

In following this line I also brought to your attention that gay-affirming “pastor” Jay Bakker heads up a rather rapscallion, and largely Biblically illiterate, bunch in the Emerging Church who’ve crowned themselves Outlaw Preachers. He’s also leader of a support group called Revolution NYC, which is trying to pass itself off as a church. Bakker’s appearance at Big Tent Christianity: Being and Becoming the Church, a recent apostasia-palooza of the EC, was his coming out party in the wider EC den.

You should also know that Bakker, who really shouldn’t even be teaching Sunday School—let alone pastoring a church—is tip of the spear for the coming EC advance of their pro-gay agenda to convince your young evangelicals that the deviant and sinful lifestyle of having sexual relations with another of the same sex, i.e homosexuality, is a viable one for the regenerated Christian. If you seriously think that this perverse deviancy is all just going to go away…then…you’d best think again; long and hard.

That’s why I’ve been using the issue of homosexuality to light up the sky with the Word of God, to give you a chance to see the wide, and very rapid, advance of the EC and its evil apostate agenda. I’ve also told you that because evangelicalism has rejected the proper Biblical spirituality of sola Scriptura in favor of CSM it has placed itself upon the postmodern playing field of existential and highly subjective experience where there are no rules i.e. evangelicalism is defenseless against such as these.

Keeping this perversion in mind, let me now show you something which is running along a parallel track outside of the church visible…well, for now anyway. This is not necessarily an endorsement of the work I’m about to mention, though I was born in Gloucester, MA and have much family in MA. However, I say that you should consider carefully the videos I now refer you to, which can be found at MassResistance: the pro-family action center for Massachusetts — and beyond! and viewed right here.

Both of these are Fox News reports; the first concerns “gender coach” Joel Baum, “the Director of Education and Training” at something called Gender Spectrum, and his teaching fourth grade students about “gender diversity” i.e. transgenderism and “how they can choose to be a boy, or a girl, or both.” The second features Shannon Price Minter, “legal director” for the National Center For Lesbian Rights who speaks in favor of this growing phenomenon.

And so I’m warning you again, the time has come when you really do need to understand that there’s a very dark and threatening same-sex storm—now rapidly approaching hurricane force—looming just off the coast of your own local church.
