BUT JOHN PIPER IS HAPPY TO LEARN FROM BETH MOORE
By Ken Silva pastor-teacher on Jul 5, 2012 in Beth Moore, Current Issues, Features, Southern Baptist Convention
Apprising Ministries does think it’s rather odd for New Calvinist mentor John Piper to say this. Especially when we consider her sinful ecumenicism as evidenced by her anti-biblical vision as described e.g. in Straightening Out Beth Moore On Discernment.
For you see, as Beth Moore describes her “vision” allegedly from God in the 2002 video clips, which I also include in this post below, she is actually repudiating the Protestant Reformation. This should be cause for concern; and yet all we hear is crickets.
Southern Baptist Beth Moore claims Jesus sees the apostate Roman Catholic Church as part of the Body of Christ. There’s no way around the fact that, since God does not change, and the Roman Catholic Church has not changed, this means the Protestant Reformers sinned against the Body of Christ.
Here are a couple of key questions: Is Dr. Piper, who also pronounces Rick Warren doctrinal and sound—and Warren also holds the same position as Beth Moore—really ok with this? Is the Gospel Coalition, of which John Piper is a member, also ok with this?
As sinful syncretism spreads because of the practice of Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism, these are questions that need to be addressed. And now we also have this: Beth Moore Preaches Sunday Morning Service At Louie Giglio’s Passion Church. There’s no getting around this fact as well:

For now, we’ll leave aside the terrible drift that Louie Giglio himself is in, e.g. Louie Giglio To Join Word Faith Lineup At 2012 Hillsong Conference—which he does about every year—and Louie Giglio To Preach At Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church,
However, in delivering the sermon Sunday morning at PCC, Beth Moore functioned in the role as teaching elder, i.e. pastor. At this point, it doesn’t matter how nice and sincere Moore may be, she is sincerely very wrong. Since God shows no partiality (cf. Acts 10:34), then neither should we.
And it’s well past time for Dr. John Piper to pay closer attention to the sinful actions and heretical visions of Beth Moore before recommending her work. Especially when she has been more and more specifically doing what Dr. Piper says when shouldn’t do as he begins answering the question posed to him below:

I have used these before; and I plan to continue using them until the light finally comes on for those like Dr. Piper and the SBC who highly recommend Beth More as a Bible teacher. First, Moore tells us God gave her a literal vision where she claims He allowed her to see “the Church, as Jesus see it”:

Now let me walk you through what Beth Moore just said:
Transcription: “… to beg to differ with people that are ten times smarter than I am. But I want to say to you I see something different than that. I see God doing something huge in the body of Christ. I do not know why I have had the privilege to get to travel around, see one church after another…one group of believers after another, interdenominationally, all over this country, but I have gotten to see something that I think is huge.
And I’ll also suggest to you I am not the only one. And tonight I’m going to do my absolute best to illustrate to you something that God showed me out on that back porch. He put a picture…I’ve explained to you before I am a very visual person…so He speaks to me very often putting a picture in my head.
And it was as if I was raised up looking down on a community, as I saw the Church in that particular dimension– certainly not all dimensions, not even in many, but in what we will discuss tonight, the Church, as Jesus sees it, in a particular dimension.”
That’s Moore’s testimony; those are her own words. If one is unbiased, the following should now be crystal clear: 1) Beth Moore is talking about the universal Church, i.e. the Body of Christ; 2) she’s also claiming extra-biblical revelation via a literal vision that she testifies God showed her, and 3) it supposedly enabled her to see the Church “as Jesus sees it.” There’s simply no way around this, period.
It’s very important that you keep all of this in mind now as you watch the next video clip, which is taken from a section after God Himself allegedly gave Beth Moore a literal vision that afforded her the ability in a “particular dimension” to see the Body of Christ “as Jesus sees it.” Now watch as Moore illustrates the vision concerning “something different” she sees “God doing” in the Church, i.e. “the body of Christ.”
You’ll see she does include the apostate Roman Catholic Church, which long ago anathematized the Gospel of Jesus Christ, among her Christian denominations:

What I’ve done in this particular class that makes this group so special, and I’m loving this about you who are online, we are a very interdenominational group. And so I’ve literally gotten to position people from these denominations and from these backgrounds into these groups. So that just thrills me.
So this part we’re not playing. However I’ve just made up the name from familiar names of churches I’ve seen through the years. Right over here to my right you see First United Methodist Church of Lessthanland. Right behind them you would find just down the street, just across the street really, you’ve got Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Every single one of my sisters in this area attends a Lutheran church which thrills me. These all attend a Methodist church. I can’t tell you how I love that kind of diversity. What I’ve asked these ladies to do right here, now this makes it a little bit different, because they do go to different churches. But what I’ve asked them to represent to us tonight to us is an African-American church that we’re going to call Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Is that good? Did I do good? Yes! Hallelujah, Hallelujah! Right back here I want you to meet St. Anne’s [Roman] Catholic Church of Lessthanland. These ladies come, every single one of them, although they don’t go to one [Roman] Catholic church, every single one of them attend a [Roman] Catholic church probably right here in Houston. And I am so thrilled that they are here.
What I’ve asked my sisters to do here, actually they represent many different churches but they represent one church in our midst tonight. These are our sisters that attend different Charismatic churches in our city but tonight they attend Abundant Life Church. Is that good?
No, it isn’t. You’ll see in Has The Roman Catholic Church Really Changed? that the answer is absolutely not! The truth is, rather than preaching and teaching from a pulpit on a Sunday morning, Beth Moore needs to repent and learn some discernment from the Word of God and ignore her fickle feelings.
And perhaps if “names” within the evangelical community would spend less time trying to silence “discernment bloggers,” mysterious folk who always go unnamed, and address very serious issues like women pastors and the Church of Rome being mainstreamed into evangelicalism, then maybe there’d be no need for discernment blogging.
