INDULGENCES REGAIN RELEVANCE UNDER POPE BENEDICT

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery… You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? This persuasion is not from Him Who calls you. A little leaven leavens the whole lump. (Galatians 5:1, 7-9, ESV)

Circle up those evanjellyfish wagons as the non-protesting Protestants are heading right back into this exact same religious bondage which would cause the Lord to bring about His Reformation of His Church in the first place. Did you really think God would simply wink while you practice the Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism of Rome’s Counter-Reformation?
Well now, I know that there’s a lot of revisionist aka postmodern history out there but I’m guessing you could still find out that the apostate Roman Catholic Church, with their stupid “get out of Hell free” cards they call indulgences, had…O, I dunno, just a little bit…to do with said Reformation.
Ok, so under the spiritual Benedict Arnold usurping the place of the Holy Spirit in Satan’s best front for the Kingdom of God, don’t look now but: “They’re baaaack!” The following is from BusinessWeek, quite apros pos ya know, as we read:
Carol Wilkinson remembers her mother’s prayer books listing indulgences one could receive for reciting certain prayers. But Wilkinson, 75, of Greensburg had no idea that indulgences — a spiritual benefit by which Catholics believe they can free themselves from the punishment of sin in purgatory — remained a part of church custom. “Do they still do that?” Wilkinson said recently as she headed into a lunchtime Mass at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg.
What surprises Wilkinson and other Catholics is that indulgences have been emphasized more in the last few years, particularly under Pope Benedict XVI, in an effort to bring the church back to traditional practices… (Online source)
Hmm, so much for the supposed “changes” in dogma concerning soteriology, the heart of the mission of the genuine Body of Christ, which allegedly happened with Vatican II. Some salient advice: If an RCC priest offers you some Koolaid, don’t drink it, k.
