The Lord be praised that He saw fit to open the door for Apprising Ministries to have become one of the leading voices against the sinfully ecumenical Emergent Church aka the Emerging Church, a neo-liberal cult that was actually operating out in the open and has since blended right in within the mainstream of apostatizing evangelicalism itself.

Its primary legacy is that through its core doctrine of corrupt Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism (CSM), masquerading as spurious Spiritual Formation ala Living Spiritual Teacher and Quaker mystic Richard Foster and his late spiritual twin Dallas Willard, the Emergent Church leaders have been quite successful in taking the focus off proper Christian spirituality of sola Scriptura. Instead, through the EC’s evil influence, now the average younger evangelical uses their mere subjective feelings and experiences as the basis of their relationship with God.

That’s a recipe for spiritual disaster and the root reason why we such syncretism within the heart of the visible Christian community today, While that paradigm shift was being set up by EC propaganda, circa the late 90′s, foolish evangelical leaders would make the ill-fated decision to begin using the warped and toxic teachings of EC instructors within their own Young Adult and Youth ministries. All the more tragic when you consider that these materials were pumped out by mainstream evangelical publishing houses.

This would open them up to a veritable who’s who of heresy, including the unholy EC trinity of apostates, Living Spiritual Teacher and EC guru Brian McLaren, universalist EC pastor Doug Pagitt, and his friend Dr. Tony Jones, the progressive “theologian in residence” at Solomon’s Porch headed by Pagitt. You should know that finally—when these vicious vipers sensed the weakness of their evangelical prey—we would witness a fully upgraded Emerging Church 2.0 that came completely out of the closet and shut off its cloaking device, which then revealed its new postmodern form of “big tent” Progressive Christianity—a Liberalism 2.0—often referred to as Emergence Christianity.

So, the EC thus became another example of the fetid fruit of the counter-Reformation spirituality of CSM that has, through the evolution of this postmodern liberalism, now spread so deeply into spiritually spineless evanjellyfish. Without a doubt, one of the most influential voices within the enemy’s emerging church was Brian McLaren. To show you where his practices of Contemplative/Centering Prayer, a form of meditation in an altered state of consciousness that is the crown jewel of CSM, have taken guru McLaren—the last time we saw him was when Brian McLaren Leads Ceremony at Son’s Same-Sex Wedding.

Well, now his corrupting influence is about to even infect local church curriculum. Over at Menno-lite we’re told about McLaren’s latest project in McLaren’s New Book – A New Kind of Year Long Church Curriculum. Sadly, we first find out many Mennonites have followed the tragic example that I told above has been set by evangelical churches. For you see, they “have supported the agenda of the contemplative spirituality and emerging church movements to teach and influence their children,” ((http://mennolite.wordpress.com/2014/05/15/mennonites-teaching-contemplative-spirituality-to-children/, accessed 5/17/14.)) thereby also passing their own young through the fires of Molech, as it were. They need only look at mainstream evangelicalism to see signs of God’s judgement for this.

Unfortunately, for these Mennonites it gets even worse:

Mennonites have even shown their support of Brian McLaren’s agenda to shape their entire families. In 2012, an announcement by MennoMedia Staff appeared on the Mennonite Church Canada website called Brian McLaren headlines Shaping Families line-up in December. Shaping Families was a radio broadcast for three years but now remains as a faith-based resource website. Linked with Mennonite Church USA, Mennonite church Canada and Mennoninte Missions Network, it continues to offer various interviews that Third Way Media/MennoMedia produced in the last number of years. Brian McLaren is as apostate as they come as is his gospel of Christian Universalism ((Christian Universalism is also known as Universal Redemption. Here is a very good article on this false doctrine taken from a pro-Christian Universalism website: http://www.auburn.edu/~allenkc/chr-univ.html, accessed 5/17/14.)) a la the Love Wins mythology of his disciple Rob Bell. ((I first told you Bell was heading into Christian Universalism in Rob Bell and Christian Universalism.)) Bell, like Brian McLaren, has succumbed to mysticism and can’t even see the historic orthodox Christian faith from his current location in spiritual outer space. ((For example see: Ready for “The Rob Bell Show” on Oprah’s Network?)) So, we’re not surprised to see Rob Bell gushing about McLaren’s new book We Make the Road by Walking: A Year-Long Quest for Spiritual Formation, Reorientation, and Activation (WMRW):

“A ton of people have been waiting for this book-they just didn’t know it! Brian has given us a clear and compelling guide to walking the Jesus path together, around the table, in the living room, discussing and learning and growing. This book is going to help so many people.”—Rob Bell, author of What We Talk About When We Talk About God (source, bold theirs)

Indeed, the book will help unsuspecting people to leave the Christian faith as you have Rob; and if they fully commit to the mystic mythology of Brian McLaren, they’ll also end up like CSM super-star Thomas Merton (1915-1968). As I showed you in Thomas Merton and the Buddhas, by the end of his life the apostate Roman Catholic monk was more like the Buddha than the Christ; as is McLaren now. Of course, we would expect Phyllis Tickle, the Empress of Emergence Christianity, to call this new book “one of the most remarkable documents in recent Christian writings” because she has already compared the work of Brian McLaren to that of Martin Luther. We can see right where WMRW completely derails as we look at the endorsements of Rachel Held Evans and that of McLaren’s good friend, and fellow apostate, Tony Jones. ((With this in mind consider that Jones is a professor at the respected evangelical school Fuller Theological Seminary and that both Phyllis Tickle and Brian McLaren would help him teach his course on contemplative mysticism as I showed you in Fuller Theological Seminary Professor Tony Jones and Christian Spirituality Cohort. )) Evans wants us to know that it “changed the way I engage Scripture” and Jones tells us that WMRW is supposedly “rooted in scripture, [but] yet offering fresh, even radical, readings” [read: a postmodern liberal view of the Bible]. Frankly, you’ve just read another example of something that truly is rooted in Scripture, a fulfillment of:

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. (2 Timothy 4:3-4)

Nothing good is going to come from exposing anyone to more of Brian McLaren’s postmodern liberalism aka Progressive Christianity ((McLaren has told us himself that he’s “a progressive Christian” as you’ll see in Brian McLaren Admits Ken Silva Was Right ; and see also Brian McLaren and his New Emerging Progressive Theology.)), let alone impressionable young unable to defend themselves form such ravenous wolves. ((cf. Matthew 7:15; 20:29.)) Yet apparently this is a possibility:

The new church curriculum has been re-imagined, the Bible is being retold… let the undiscerning allow it to be introduced to their churches. The question is: will there be a children/youth version to follow, as promised? Will the Mennonites who find McLaren’s winds of doctrine very refreshing ((http://mennolite.wordpress.com/2011/03/17/cmu-student-found-refreshing-winds-very-cool/, as cited in original.)) allow more of his teachings to blow into their teaching establishments? Good questions, indeed. I also offer here as well that these questions really need to be of concern throughout the whole of the wider evangelical community.
